Hello everyone, welcome back to Ramadhanight's Hive Blog. Since the Splinterlands rental are now only available in seasonal, we often need a large amount of DEC at the EOS time, let me tell you how to get the DEC at the average price with DSwap Pool DCA !
The Need of DEC in Large Amount at EoS
For Splinterlands Players, especially that is heavily depended on rental market, must be relate with the fact that we need large amount of DEC at the end of season (EoS). This is because the rental system are no longer available on daily base, and only available on seasonal base. So, you need to rent until the season is over. Since the card for rent are not as much as previous modern league (with the CL edition that having massive supply), the cheap cards are often only available at the very first new season moment. And this means we need to rent for 15 or 16 days until the end of that season ! This is why players are often need large amount of DEC at the EoS moment, to prepare for rent the card until the next EoS.
Don't Get Trapped with Expensive Price, Just Do DCA
That needs of large amount of DEC often cause us trapped in a condition of dilemma, especially when the DEC price is suddenly pumped or the hive itself that is dropped. Since it's hard to know when the dip and when the spike would happen, DCA could be a solution to help us get average price and no need to keep monitoring the market.
Let me tell you a little about DCA. DCA stand for Dollar Cost Averaging, which refer to a strategy for accumulating through many buying at different time. Usually they set an interval for it and doing a buy without considering the price, because the goal is to have the average price, and not trying to guess the up and the dip, so this is a counter for the bulking. By doing DCA, we have less risk of trapped on the high price in the condition that we really need those DEC for renting the cards.
Easily Doing DCA with DSwap
Great news for everybody because we don't have to do DCA manually anymore. The automatic DCA features is available at DSwap. You can visit https://dswap.trade/ for doing the automatic DCA. There is 2 kind of DCA is available, Market DCA and Pools DCA.
I personally love using the Pools DCA, this is because with market system, there is usually a higher gap between the offer price and the bid price. Meanwhile, swapping through the liquidity pool could give you relatively better price.
Things we need is only the setting of what we want to spend and how much we willing to spend, what we want to buy, and how long the interval and amount of transaction we want to do. As example, I need around 12k DEC for my current rental, and I have some for spare already, so I decide to try getting the 12k DEC with DCA. Based on current price, it would cost around 48 Hive. So I set 48 hive to sell, and DEC to buy. Since the EOS will happen in 7 days, I decide to set it for 6 days with 12 hours interval (720 minutes), so I could get more average price instead of once a day, that is why I doubled my order into 12 instead of 6.
Last thing we did is read the DCA Summary and start the DCA with 1 simple button. We can also check our active DCA and the history at the below menu. There is 0.25% platform fee, which is okay considering we can get average price.

Conclussion
Sometimes, we need a large amount of a token like when needed the DEC on the EoS period. We can avoid getting trapped in the high price of a token by doing DCA in order to get average price. We can easily use the automatic DCA features from DSwap in order to get it done easily and effortless with simple setting and it would only cost 0,25% for the platform fee.
