Every common man who lives in this world lives for some dream or the other. Whether it's to earn a lot of money or to travel the world or any other dream that he wants, he keeps changing it, so all this is changing the dream. But sometimes it happens in your life that because of one thing or because of one person, you have to give up that one dream of yours because you would never want to give up your dream for one person. But such a compulsion comes that you have to give up.
For example, let's say your parents are getting older, and you love to travel, but you have to take responsibility for the household, or your uncle has passed away. You have to take care of him, so this is the reason. Sometimes, you have to give up your dreams for someone. You can travel all you want, but you can't travel with those friends you could have traveled with earlier. There are times when we make plans that never come true, and they all fall through the cracks because we don't have time, or something else comes up that causes us to miss it, or sometimes someone cancels it altogether. Trips are just that: there have been times in life when you wanted to do something but couldn't.
Not everything in life is perfect. Sometimes life throws you such a challenge that you face a lot of problems all at once, and at that moment you have to fight, because life is hitting you hard, and you wonder if you'll be able to fight it all. Many people had such big dreams, but they couldn't fulfill them. Even businesspeopledon't fulfill their dreams. I had this dream, to say the least, of becoming one. But for some reason, I had to do this work. It's a different matter that they achieved success, but it wasn't because of that work. Their dream was something else. Therefore, I believe that a dream should have something that, no matter what you are, you can fulfill.
I had a big dream. With a commerce background, I always wanted to get into Shri Ram College of Commerce. It was one of the best colleges in India, but my percentage was not enough, and I didn't make the cut-off list, and I couldn't get selected. I was extremely angry about this. I set my sights on my dream of studying at the college. I tried very hard to find someone with a different background or a different program. I even tried to find a job in something else, even if it wasn't commerce, but I couldn't find it. That's what I was so angry about. I also felt that this was my dream, but from sixth through seventh grade, I wanted to attend Shri Ram College because I'd heard so much about it. Our case speaker was also from Shri Ram College, so I always thought I'd go there. But life teaches us that no matter how hard you try, if it's not in your destiny, it won't happen.
But you should also understand that compromising doesn't mean giving up. Compromising is a very good thing and a very brave act, because not everyone compromises. I've seen many people give up everything in pursuit of their dreams, but that's not the way to do it, because sometimes we have to compromise in life. If you have a great dream but can't fulfill it, don't be disappointed. Learn to be happy with what you've got, because many people always say the same thing: be happy with what you've got, because no one was blessed with as much as you. So live within your means and be happy with what you've got. I learned this a long time ago, because when I didn't get into college, I was very angry and depressed. I would yell at anyone who came to talk to me. But gradually, I realized that if it didn't happen, it didn't matter. My life had stopped, or I felt like I would go to another college.
But keep this thing in mind: you should compromise only with those people whom you truly consider your own or with whom you have been living for a long time. There are many people who would compromise their dreams for happiness and a new generation. But I don't believe that you should compromise with those people because you don't know them or they used to do it properly. Your decision cannot go wrong later. They are very important and play a big role in our lives. So don't give up on your dreams. Yes, if it is your parents or any of your relatives, for whom you have to leave the dream for some other work, then it is a different matter, but for any other person, what is a thing that is free that gives you a vision about what you want to do next in your life? If you give up your dreams, then what will you do in life?
Finally, I'd like to say that dreaming is a wonderful thing, and fulfilling it is even better. Not everyone is fortunate enough to achieve it, but many people who have many dreams can. Therefore, dreaming, even if it's a small dream, is a good thing. And if you can't fulfill your dream, you're not a failure. You're a great person because you didn't fulfill your dream, but that's why you're broken and doing your work. So, never think that your dream is over. What if your dream doesn't come true? You don't fall into the category of serial killers, because failure is a different thing. Failure is a different thing. The lack of fulfillment is a different thing. There's a huge difference between the two. Many people have dreamed many different dreams, but not everyone's dreams come true. It's not the same for everyone. It's different for many people and different for others.
