Who heard the sound of the call to prayer for me? That melody was so sweet, the melody rang so sweet My soul was stirred, my veins danced. What a sweet sound of the call to prayer! I am crazy about that sweet melody, What a fascination, I rush to the mosque in the evening, whether in the daytime or in the evening. The strings of the heart, the sound of the soul, What a wave that rises in the storm of devotion - How much sweetness is there in that sweet call to prayer. Its echo is in the songs of the river and the birds. That melody comes to my ears in the song of the bumblebee What an obsession the whole earth is fascinated with. In the land, in the sea, in the water, In the sound of the springs, I wish I could hear the sound of that call to prayer. Oh, when that melody sounds sweetly, Floating far away in the stillness of the evening, It stirs the soul, how sweet is that call to prayer, I hear its echo within my soul. Silent silence, as if everything in the world were dead, Nowhere else can such a sound be heard, The muezzin stands in a loud voice behind the minaret What a beauty he spreads in the call to prayer at dawn! Waking up the enchanted human race. Oh, how sweet is the sound of that call to prayer. That melody played so melodiously, so melodiously The soul was stirred, the arteries danced.
