🦉 The common starling or European starling (Sturnus vulgaris)
- Sturnus lat.: sturnus starling, sturninus speckled, spotted
- vulgaris (lat.) well-known, ordinary
These birds have a very interesting coloring, they are black with a green and purple metallic sheen, and a bright yellow beak. Despite the fact that these birds are considered not to be shy and settle near people, in my city for some reason they are rarely seen, and only in the spring.
They arrive early, they can even arrive when there is still snow. And in the summer they seem to disappear somewhere. In the summer I met them only in the meadows, in small groups.
