🦉 The citrine wagtail (Motacilla citreola)
- Motacilla lat .: mōto, mōtare move continuously, -cilla tail (cilla like a tail - only in ornithology, erroneous established name)
- citreola lat .: citrus, citreus citrus, citreolus lemon color
For some reason, these birds do not live in the vicinity of my city, but they do live in the steppes of the neighboring region. They inhabit various damp open habitats, they love damp meadows, where I meet them every year in May. Every year I visit damp meadows outside the city and they are always there.
In general, the bird leads the same way of life as the spruce or yellow wagtail. It lives in bushes, runs quickly along the ground and shakes its tail.
