Now you can see how there are more and more of these birds in the city courtyards. I can't keep up with refilling my feeder, literally in 20 minutes a flock of birds destroys all the peanuts. Of course, fights also happen at the feeder. Birds find out which of them is of higher rank. The high-ranking bird, having sat down in the feeder, spreads its wings on both sides to seem bigger.

But it's not that simple. These birds have quite a good intellect, unlike other small birds. And for example, a low-ranking bird can give a danger signal so that all the birds at the feeder fly away to the bushes to hide, and then it can calmly and without fighting take food out of turn.

In spring, these guys mostly fly away to the nearest forests and parks, find a mate if they haven't done so before. But 1-2 pairs always stay to live in the yard. In my yard, one pair has been living for 2 years in a row, and they have already hatched 5 chicks.
