🦉 The Baikal bullfinch (Pyrrhula pyrrhula cineracea), also known as the grey bullfinch, grey-headed bullfinch or great bullfinch
- Pyrrhula (Greek): pyrrhos - red
- cineracea lat.: cineris - ash, cinereus, cineraceus - ash gray

I encounter these guys very, very rarely, and only in winter. Their habitat is the dark coniferous taiga, but during winter migrations they can also appear in mixed forests, which is exactly what happened to me.

I noticed that this species is less shy than its close relatives, the common bullfinch. I could approach them without any problem, and they didn't fly away.
