Seeing a car parking lot is commonplace, but what about seeing a space shuttle parking lot? Imagine if Earth were overcrowded with humans, and we had to move to space.
A replica of Earth would be built in space, where we could live. Spaceships would arrive and arrive every day. Space would become increasingly crowded with spacecrafts drifting here and there, in addition to the space debris that already clutters the cosmos.
There would be a space shuttle parking lot to accommodate them. This parking lot would be highly sophisticated. Large spacecraft would be parked in the space hangar, with technicians constantly checking their condition. There would also be a space refueling station. The payment would be astronomical, and the money would be used to improve facilities on the new Earth.
But is all that possible, and when will that time come? Will it be in the next generation? Who knows? What's clear is that Earth is the most comfortable place for us, a home we must all protect together.
