Hello manhwa lovers, today I'm back with another manhwa review. Today I'm doing an exceptional genre review because most of the time I would review something romantic but not today. I have been reading a lot of romance genre and I really wanted a break so I started to read "Acting Gangster" so by discovering the name you can already tell what is it gonna be about. I'm still reading it and I actually have no clue what's the story is gonna be about and where it is leading but I have enjoyed it so I wanted to share it with all of you. I will share my personal opinion about it then you guys can decide if it's actually good or not.

Plot Summary

The story follows Taeseong who has been a actor since his childhood. As a child actor he was appreciated for his acting and got many awards for it. When he was a kid he was very determined and most of the time he was getting the chance for acting because of his appearance. He always has been handsome and had won over many hearts but as soon he grew up he became lazy and stopped practicing. His acting was bare minimum that the director would get mad at him for it. His manager Haesu was struggling a lot for Taeseong's behaviour but he didn't care at all.

One day Taeseong was missing as he was not contacting his manager but Haesu had a tracker to locate him. Haesu reached at the spot and saw the state of Taeseong was really bad. Taeseong was beaten up badly and had injured his head for that reason he could not remember who he was. But this was only one side of the story actually he is not Taeseong he is Mun-gil who looks exactly as Taeseong. On the other hand real Taeseong was taken away by some gangster who was his companions. Basically Mun-gil is a gangster and somehow Taeseong got trapped at his place.

In fear of being eliminated Taeseong remained silent and on the other hand Mun-gil had amnesia so he doesn't remember anything from his past life. Now Haesu pursued Mun-gil to act and he's very cooperative this does shock Haesu but he thought it's because of the amnesia. Both Taeseong and Mun-gil's life began to change as they had change their places unknowingly.

Review

Well, I would love to read this kind of manhwa just because there's gonna be two male leads. We will get to experience both of their lifestyle and as far as I have learned that there's too much of humours and it's really funny. The comedy tag explains it all so I'm really curious to see how their life will turn when they realize that they have switched their places. Mun-gil can't remember anything but I'm sure for Taeseong it's gonna be so hard.

Mun-gil is not gonna suffer at all as he was already a gangster and his role is to act as a gangster which is very easy for him without him knowing. But I don't know about Taeseong if he knows how to fight, he has been acting as a gangster but it was behind the set. For the first time he will be fighting blood thirsty people and I think it will be a tough journey for him. Somehow I feel he might get fond of it as it looked like he never cared about his acting career.

On the other hand I also want to know how Mun-gil will feel when his memories will return. I think his backstory is very sad and for that reason I really want to see some good things happening with him. I would still read this if there's no female lead in this manhwa as it's not necessary to create a love angle in every manhwa. If romance is added then I might stop reading it because I wanna see something funny and some actions. To be honest I don't like the artstyle it feels like the artist is very lazy to showcase his talent.

I feel the art could be better like it was very uneasy to read this manhwa because of the art. The eyes are drawn pretty badly and it looked very bad to me I would have given this manhwa a low rating because of the art but still the story is so good. I honestly don't wanna give it a low rating. In 2025 who draws characters like this messed up face? I really expect some decent art at least make the face visible. The funny scenes doesn't require good art but rest of the time felt like a chore. Anyway, I would rate this manhwa for the story eight out of ten and for art four out of ten.
