Today we live in a world where money is more valued than anything else because it has taken the place of center. You will hardly see someone who is chasing for their dreams, instead they chase profits. I'm a man of passion and it has always pushed me to be creative and do something better in life, it has encouraged me to help people as well. When I look at every field from education to job or hospital I can clearly see that everything is now business based not purpose. So, it does make me curious to ask that how can this be fixed? Can we ever bring back the time when people willingly out of passion had chosen their careers and not for financial gain?

Right now I'm 51 years old but when I was a teenager I noticed that the teachers at my school would teach us many new things beyond the books because they enjoyed shaping young minds. I have seen many doctors giving away free treatments because they wanted people to be healed as they truly cared for people, same goes for an artist who would only paint to expression their deep emotions through the art. In recent time, most people cares about what will benefit them? How will they gain more advantages through it? Or how much money they will be earning? But they don't ask themselves that if they will enjoy it, if they will do it with their willings and not with pressure, if they are happy with their job?
For example if you go to any private hospital they are always more focused on income than recovery. It's now a matter of concern because they might say that the patience is diagnosed with many illness to make them do multiple tests or make them buy extra medicines. The schools have are no longer a place we study in but a place for degrees instead of knowledge. Teachers don't even bother to teach them something exceptional and might get mad for asking too many questions. My daughter has already faced those problems so I know about it. I find it very sad because human beings are losing its emotional connection with work.
I believe this new world didn’t happen overnight. It surely took small steps over time and the society started value success for wealth and none cares about the character. I think social media has played a big role in this because of the fake influencers who would show off their luxurious life and people would trust it in a second. People don't care about kindness anymore and they like to compare their worth through expensive clothes which I think is very lame. How can an object decide our worth? Such as cars and houses they are not something that should be seen as success.
In real life every person who earns a lot does not mean that they are truly happy. Most of them have highly paid jobs and still they feel one kind of void because they do not like their job and has no passion for it. It's like a robot waking up everyday to work and survive it's not called living it's only surviving. But those people who follows their passion even if they earn less money they still would find peace and satisfaction in their lives. Hence it's proved that happiness doesn’t come from money it comes from meaning.
To make the world passionate again, firstly we need to change our mindset. The mindset of the parents should be changed at first because they often force their childrens into the field of something they don't like and they don't get the chance to explore what they love. Even the schools also have a big responsibility.
If a child is into music then let them pursue it. Even if they fail they should at least get the chance to experience it. The only goal now should be to raise a generation that values purpose over wealth. The sooner we stop measuring life by profit the faster we will see the impact, and passion will return in our life. I have never let the money take over my thoughts all I do is out of passion. Writing on Hive is also a passion for me and I enjoy doing it very much.
