The future of human-machine interactions is definitely about to change forever, and with the new robot from Chinese company Xpeng , it is doing just that. Xpeng has unveiled the second generation of its IRON humanoid robot, a model so advanced that I must admit it is a pleasure to watch due to its movements and fluidity, which give it a natural feel.

With 62 active joints, three Turing AI chips and solid-state matter, it is able to walk, talk and perform tasks with a precision and naturalness very close to that of a real human being; This humanoid was presented during the "2025 XPENG AI Day" in Guangzhou, the IRON was developed to operate in real environments, from stores to offices, interacting with people in a fluid and empathetic way.

Measuring 1.78 cm tall and weighing 70 kg, the robot combines mechanical strength with motor subtlety. Its synthetic “muscles” imitate the functioning of human fibers, contracting and expanding to generate smooth and balanced movements; Each hand has 22 degrees of freedom, which allows it to hold delicate objects or lift heavy boxes. It has no face and is made up of a curved touch-sensitive screen, capable of showing dynamic expressions while the robot speaks, a detail that makes its interactions more natural and less mechanical.

Inside, intelligence is driven by three Turing Chip, which processes 2,250 billion operations per second, this power gives IRON close to contextual awareness, sees, understands and acts based on the information around it thanks to Xpeng's vision language action system; In practice this means that the robot can recognize people, answer questions, fold clothes, guide visitors or even assist in corporate and logistical tasks.

But what is most impressive is its form of locomotion: instead of relying on programmed movements, IRON learned to walk by observing thousands of hours of videos of human beings, refining its gait until it achieved a movement almost indistinguishable from natural ones. Your feet have active cushioning and pressure sensors that adjust balance in real time, allowing you to walk on uneven surfaces at a speed of up to 2 meters per second.

The first commercial generation of the IRON will begin working in retail and customer service environments in 2026, greeting people and presenting products.

The lightweight and safe solid-state battery ensures long-term operation without overheating, a breakthrough that could become the standard in robotics in the coming years; and when you start receiving people in stores and companies, perhaps the most curious question is not, what do you do? but how far we will go after him; There are those who predict a very dark world.

Sorry for my Ingles, it's not my main language. The images were taken from the sources used or were created with artificial intelligence
