They have created a screen as thin as a painting on the wall, but capable of giving life to images that seem to jump out of the physical space, almost as if they were really there in front of you, that is the proposal of Looking Glass Factory, a New York company whose vision is to make holograms without glasses an everyday reality.

The new luminescent Holo screen, less than 2.5 cm thick, is capable of displaying videos and animations with a depth that challenges the limits of perception. We are not just talking about high resolution like 4K, but about a visual experience in which objects seem to float in the air, visible from different angles and perceptible by several people at the same time. do

To understand the impact, just imagine a historical artifact and a museum displayed in rotating 3D or a digital character guiding visitors through a gallery, the sensation is as if the physical space was invaded by palpable digital presences, technically, the magic is possible thanks to an accessible workflow.

Any 2D video recorded with a solid background can be transformed into Holominescent content using common editing software with Adobe Premiere Pro and streamed directly to the screen.

These screens come in sizes ranging from 16 inches for $2,000 to an impressive 86 inches that cost $20,000. Unlike a traditional monitor or TV, they were not created for the living room, but to make an impact in public spaces, commercial showcases, art galleries, technology fairs or even futuristic spectaculars.

The curious detail is how this technology manages to give an almost magical sensation of presence without requiring glasses or additional devices, it is like looking through a window that reveals another dimension with layers of reality that intermingle.
