Amazed by the mud bathing experience at the volcano El Totumo we continued our travel to Barranquilla. Where we spent 2 nights and wanted to experience the carneval, but just after 10 minutes of walking around on one of the many carneval streets we got robbed. In the end we could just enjoy a little bit from the carneval and continued to Taganga with a bit less money, fewer cards and a new cheap phone. In Taganga we could relax again and check some of those beautiful small bays that look almost like in Greece, except for the huge cactus species. After a short hike along the coast we also went snorkeling in one bay and saw quite a lot of fish species and other coastal animals. Well rested from Taganga we spent two nights between the airport of Santa Marta and the city and could explore this quite interesting city a bit.

Erstaunt von der Schlammbad Erfahrung beim Vulkan El Totumo setzten wir unsere Reise nach Barranquilla fort. Wo wir 2 Nächte verbrachten und den Karneval erleben wollten, aber schon nach 10 Minuten herumspazieren auf einer der Karneval Straßen wurden wir ausgeraubt. Im Endeffekt konnten wir nur ein bisschen vom Karneval genießen und reisten mit etwas weniger Geld, weniger Karten und einem neuen billigen Handy weiter nach Taganga. Dort konnten wir uns wieder entspannen und ein paar der schönen kleinen Buchten anschauen, die bis auf die großen Kaktus Arten fast wie in Griechenland aussehen. Nach einer kurzen Wanderung entlang der Küste gingen wir auch in einer der Buchten schnorcheln und sahen einige Fischarten und andere Küstentiere. Gut erholt von Taganga verbrachten wir zwei Nächte zwischen dem Flughafen von Santa Marta und der Stadt und konnten diese recht interessante Stadt etwas erkunden.
