¡Hola amantes del manga y el anime!
¡Feliz inicio de semana! Espero que tengan una semana muy exitosa y productiva.
Para iniciar la semana, quiero compartirles un fanart que hice de dos personajes que me gustaban mucho en mi infancia de la serie Los Pitufos: Johan y Pirluit, conocidos también como Juan y Guillermo/ Guillermín.

Esta serie no es anime sino cartoon, animada por los estudios Hanna Barbera. En la serie animada, pareciera que las aventuras de Juan y Guillermo son una historia lateral a la de Los Pitufos, cuando en la realidad fue lo contrario.
Johan and Pirluit fue creado por el historietista belga Peyo en 1946 como una serie de historietas de fantasía medieval. Johan (Juan), es un joven de alrededor 19-20 años de edad que está al servicio del rey como escudero mientras que Pirluit (Guillermo/Guillermín), hace las funciones del bufón de la corte.
Ellos eran los únicos humanos que frecuentaban la aldea de Los Pitufos así que muchas aventuras ocurrían cuando los pequeños decidían acompañar al heroico joven a veces a escondidas.
Mis inicios en el dibujo tuvieron mucha influencia del cartoon (aunque no lo parezca). Siempre quise dibujarlos pero nunca me atreví porque en ese tiempo sentía que no tenía las técnicas para que me quedara igual.
Así que ahora decidí hacer una versión de ellos al estilo anime. Cambié la simplicidad del cartoon por un poco más de detalles en las ropas.
El fondo lo trabajé con brochas de tizas pasteles para darle las texturas que se veían en la serie original donde los colores azules predominaban en la mayoría de los escenarios. No sé si era una táctica para enfatizar el tema del color de Los Pitufos, pero lucía bastante atractivo. Adicionalmente, la escenografía era muy rica en detalles sobre todo los referidos al ambiente del bosque.

Me divirtió mucho hacer esta versión de ellos como un tributo a personajes que me gustaban mucho en mi infancia. Seguiré dibujando a otros que también hubiese querido ilustrarlos en su momento pero que no me atrevía ya que quería que quedaran perfectos y bueno...para eso hay que practicar bastante.

Happy start of the week! I hope you have a very successful and productive week.
To kick off the week, I want to share a fanart I made of two characters I loved in my childhood from The Smurfs series: Johan and Pirluit, also known as John and William/Willie.

This series isn’t anime but a cartoon, animated by Hanna‑Barbera. In the cartoon it seems Johan and Pirluit’s adventures are a side story to The Smurfs, when in reality it was the other way around.
Johan and Pirluit was created by Belgian cartoonist Peyo in 1946 as a medieval fantasy comic series. Johan is a young man around 19–20 years old serving the king as a squire, while Pirluit (William/Willie) acts as the court jester.
They were the only humans who frequented the Smurf village, so many adventures happened when the little ones decided to follow the heroic youth, sometimes in secret.
My early drawing days were heavily influenced by cartoons (even if it doesn’t seem like it). I always wanted to draw them but never dared because back then I felt I didn’t have the technique to do them justice.
So now I decided to make an anime‑style version of them. I replaced the cartoon’s simplicity with a little more detail in their clothing.
I worked the background with pastel‑chalk brushes to give the textures seen in the original series, where blue tones predominated in most settings. I don’t know if it was a tactic to emphasize the Smurfs’ color theme, but it looked very appealing. The scenery was also rich in details, especially those related to the forest environment.

I had a lot of fun making this version as a tribute to characters I loved as a child. I’ll keep drawing others I wanted to illustrate back then but didn’t dare because I wanted them to be perfect, and well… that takes a lot of practice.
