En el post de hoy, quiero compartirles un poquito sobre dos de los personajes principales de mi manga "Ángel Guardián": Kyrsiel y Gersiel.
Ya en un post anterior les compartí algo sobre Gersiel al momento de mostrarles una animación que hice con él. Esta vez, les hablaré un poco más de él y de su estudiante Kyrsiel.
Empecemos hablando de Gersiel. Fue un humano al que, por sus buenas acciones, se le permitió convertirse en un ángel. Durante su tiempo como un ángel de la guarda, se destacó como un guerrero con una gran habilidad lo cual lo convirtió en un de los enemigos más temidos y odiados por los demonios y uno de los más admirados guerreros de élite entre los ángeles. Debido a su gran vocación para enseñar, se le convirtió en maestro y entrenó a muchos ángeles que destacaron, como su alumna Mitharael, quien es considerada por el mismo Gersiel como una de las mejores y capaz de superar sus propias habilidades. Gersiel tiene dominio sobre todos los elementos, pero tiene preferencia sobre el elemento Tierra. En su diseño, tomé en cuenta esto para el color de su uniforme: marrones y verdes predominan siempre en su ropa. Esto también influye en su personalidad, la cual es más seria. Si tuviera que elegir un signo zodiacal para él, definitivamente sería Capricornio.
Gersiel es muy disciplinado. Como maestro, suele ser muy estricto con sus alumnos durante sus entrenamientos, pero eso no quiere decir que no les importen.
Él sabe que una vez que terminen sus entrenamientos, él no estará cerca para ayudarles así que lo mejor que puede hacer es darle todas las habilidades y destrezas que necesitarán para enfrentarse a sus enemigos. De hecho, suele ser muy paternalista con sus alumnos aunque no es muy dado a demostrar afecto.
Ya que suele ser muy introvertido, suele preferir misiones donde esté en solitario y aunque cuenta con la admiración de sus compañeros por su excelente desempeño, muy pocos han logrado ser sus amigos.
Estando a punto de ser ascendido a un nuevo rango, fue asignado a entrenar a un último alumno: Kyrsiel. Lo que parecía una tarea sencilla de entrenar a un alumno durante cinco años, terminó convirtiéndose en quince años de frustración, ya que el joven aprendiz no avanza en sus estudios y pareciera que ninguna metodología de enseñanza funciona con él. Mientras Kyrsiel no apruebe y gane sus alas como ángel, Gersiel no podrá continuar su proceso de evolución.
Esto nos lleva a hablar ahora de Kyrsiel. Él es todo lo contrario de lo que se podría esperar de un ángel: es perezoso, indisciplinado y falto de atención. Posee muy buenas habilidades y aprende técnicas rápidamente, pero su indisciplina juega en su contra así que nunca llega a alcanzar los estándares requeridos para sus funciones.
Gersiel trata de hacerle ver sus fortalezas para que las aproveche, pero Kyrsiel sólo piensa que él lo presiona para fastidiarlo, así que nunca toma en serio las recomendaciones de su maestro.
Kyrsiel es muy ágil y flexible a la hora de combatir, eso le da algo de ventaja sobre sus enemigos…ventaja que muchas veces desaprovecha por no prestar atención a lo que hace o pierde el foco de atención. Tiene dominio sobre el elemento Agua. Esto se refleja tambien en su diseño, con predominio del azul y blanco. El agua también simboliza las emociones y sentimientos y así es la personalidad de Kyrsiel: de pronto está calmado y si algo le hace perder el control, se convierte en una tormenta y luego vuelve a su calma habitual como si nada pasó. Cáncer sería el signo zodiacal que seleccionaría para él, convirtiéndolo en alguien totalmente opuesto a su maestro pero que de una u otra forma terminan complementándose y balanceando tanto lo bueno como lo malo de sus personalidades.
Esta fue una ilustración que hice de ambos, donde se refleja la personalidad de ambos y el contraste de ambas.

La historia de "Ángel Guardián" ha sido una que he trabajado con relativa calma y sin apuros. Quiero que los personajes cuenten su propia historia. Yo sólo escribo y dibujo lo que ellos dicen. Ha sido una experiencia bastante linda al conectar con los personajes y me gustaría compartirla con la comunidad en próximos posts.

In today’s post I want to share a bit about two of the main characters from my manga Ángel Guardián: Kyrsiel and Gersiel.
I already shared something about Gersiel in a previous post when I showed an animation I made with him. This time I’ll talk a little more about him and about his student Kyrsiel.
Let’s start with Gersiel. He was a human who, because of his good deeds, was allowed to become an angel. During his time as a guardian angel he stood out as a warrior with great skill, which made him one of the most feared and hated enemies among demons and one of the most admired elite warriors among angels. Because of his strong calling to teach, he became a master and trained many angels who excelled, such as his student Mitharael, whom Gersiel considers one of the best and capable of surpassing his own abilities. Gersiel has mastery over all elements, but he favors the Earth element. I kept this in mind for his uniform colors: browns and greens always dominate his clothing. This also influences his personality, which is more serious. If I had to pick a zodiac sign for him, it would definitely be Capricorn.
Gersiel is very disciplined. As a teacher he tends to be very strict with his students during training, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t care about them.
He knows that once their training is over he won’t be around to help them, so the best thing he can do is give them all the skills and abilities they’ll need to face their enemies. In fact, he’s often quite paternalistic with his students, though he isn’t given to showing affection.
Because he is very introverted, he tends to prefer missions where he works alone, and although his peers admire his excellent performance, very few have managed to become his friends.
About to be promoted to a new rank, he was assigned to train one last student: Kyrsiel. What seemed like a simple task, training a student for five years, ended up becoming fifteen years of frustration, since the young apprentice doesn’t progress in his studies and no teaching method seems to work with him. Until Kyrsiel passes and earns his wings as an angel, Gersiel cannot continue his own process of evolution.
Now let’s talk about Kyrsiel. He is the complete opposite of what one might expect from an angel: lazy, undisciplined, and inattentive. He has very good abilities and learns techniques quickly, but his lack of discipline works against him, so he never reaches the standards required for his duties.
Gersiel tries to make him see his strengths so he can make use of them, but Kyrsiel only thinks Gersiel is pushing him to annoy him, so he never takes his master’s advice seriously.
Kyrsiel is very agile and flexible in combat, which gives him an advantage over his enemies, a benefit he often wastes by not paying attention or losing focus. He has mastery over the Water element. This is also reflected in his design, where blue and white predominate. Water also symbolizes emotions and feelings, and that’s Kyrsiel’s personality: he can be calm one moment and, if something makes him lose control, become a storm and then return to his usual calm as if nothing happened. Cancer would be the zodiac sign I’d choose for him, making him totally opposite his master but in one way or another they end up complementing and balancing the good and bad parts of each other’s personalities.
This is an illustration I made of both of them that reflects their personalities and their contrast.
Here’s the process I followed:
The story of Ángel Guardián is one I’ve worked on with relative calm and no rush. I want the characters to tell their own story. I only write and draw what they tell me. It’s been a very lovely experience connecting with the characters, and I’d like to share it with the community in future posts.
