Hace unos diez años, me inicié como redactor de contenidos junto a un amigo que actualmente vive en Malta. Él y yo somos de Maracaibo, y hemos sido amigos por muchísimo tiempo. Se asoció con otra persona para montar una agencia de marketing de contenidos en Caracas, que necesitaba redactores. A pesar de no tener experiencia en el campo, mi amigo me contactó y me propuso escribir para ellos.
No sé exactamente por qué, pero piensa que tengo una cultura general bastante amplia, información de muchos temas, y que me gusta la investigación, la cultura, la lectura, el cine, el teatro, los conciertos de música, en fin, una cultura más o menos amplia.
Acepté la oferta y me puse en contacto con la gerente de la empresa, que era una periodista en Caracas. Comencé como redactor para Clean Perception (Percepción Limpia), y me gustó mucho. Nos entendimos bien y luego me invitaron a Caracas, donde fui como editor para subir de cargo. Fue allí donde todo comenzó.
He trabajado en dos, tres, cuatro oportunidades con mi amigo y en otras empresas argentinas, españolas y para una página de noticias mexicana, donde fui investigador, editor, redactor, y me pasaron por selección de vídeo y casi por todos los cargos que había. Sin embargo, decidieron que les gustaba mucho mi trabajo como redactor y me dejaron en ese puesto.
Hubo un momento en que redactaba y editaba, lo que generó un conflicto de intereses, ya que no podía editar mis propios textos. Si me encargaba de redactar, no podía editar mis propios textos, y si editaba los textos de otra persona, no podía editar mis propios textos. A pesar de ello, seguí trabajando en el campo.
Han pasado diez años desde que empecé a trabajar como redactor de contenidos, y acabo de terminar un trabajo con Windows Ltd, una agencia de marketing que está abriendo muchos caminos en Europa y tiene su sede en Malta.
How did you get started in the world of blogging and content writing?
Good afternoon, Reinaldo!
About ten years ago, I started as a content writer with a friend who currently lives in Malta. He and I are from Maracaibo, and we have been friends for a long time. He teamed up with another person to set up a content marketing agency in Caracas, which needed writers. Despite having no experience in the field, my friend contacted me and suggested that I write for them.
I don't know exactly why, but he thinks I have a fairly broad general knowledge, information on many topics, and I like research, culture, reading, movies, theater, music concerts, in short, a more or less broad culture.
I accepted the offer and contacted the company manager, who was a journalist in Caracas. I started as a writer for Clean Perception, and I really liked it. We got along well and then they invited me to Caracas, where I went as editor to raise a position. It was there where it all began.
I have worked two, three, four times with my friend and in other Argentine and Spanish companies and for a Mexican news page, where I was a researcher, editor, writer, and I they went through video selection and almost every charge there was. However, they decided they really liked my work as a copywriter and left me in that position.
There was a time when I was writing and editing, which created a conflict of interest, since I couldn't edit my own texts. If I was in charge of writing, I couldn't edit my own texts, and if I edited someone else's texts, I couldn't edit my own texts. Despite this, I continued to work in the field.
It's been ten years since I started working as a content writer, and I just finished a job with Windows Ltd, a marketing agency that is opening many roads in Europe and is based in Malta.
¿Cómo defines tu estilo de escritura y qué te inspira a la hora de crear contenido?
En general, me gusta compartir la información que tengo y darle un carácter distinto. Es decir, buscar aspectos que no sean muy conocidos y que sean noticias que capten la atención del lector.
How do you define your writing style and what inspires you when creating content?
In general, I like to share the information I have and give it a different character. That is, look for aspects that are not well known and that are news that capture the attention of the reader.

En mi opinión, es necesario hablar claro y directo sobre todos los temas, sin justificarlos de ninguna manera. Creo que la censura no es la solución, aunque entiendo que algunos medios pueden tener un criterio restringido o una mente poco abierta.
En estos casos, creo que lo mejor es conversar con la persona creadora del contenido y tratar de llegar a un acuerdo para que sea más moderado. Pero nunca estoy de acuerdo con la censura.
Do you think censorship is justifiable in some cases in the world of art and literature?
In my opinion, it is necessary to speak clearly and directly on all topics, without justifying them in any way. I believe that censorship is not the solution, although I understand that some media may have restricted criteria or a not very open mind.
In these cases, I think it's best to talk to the person who created the content and try to reach an agreement to make it more moderate. But I never agree with censorship.
¿Cómo has logrado mantener a tu audiencia interesada en tus contenidos a lo largo del tiempo?
No tengo ningún secreto mágico, simplemente sigo mis instintos. Soy real y honesto en el sentido de que me cuesta mucho tratar temas que no son de mi agrado. Por ejemplo, no tengo conocimiento de deportes en absoluto, así que trato de evitar hablar de ese tema. Sin embargo, en mi último trabajo con la agencia de marketing Blue Window en Malta, me asignaban temas de deportes, tenis, fútbol, equitación, ciclismo, entre otros. A pesar de no ser mi área de interés, traté de ser lo más profesional posible al dar información coherente y verdadera.
En mi opinión, hay una mala costumbre y una tendencia dentro de las personas que escriben en internet de inventar, decir mentiras, exagerar cosas y tergiversar información. No estoy de acuerdo con eso. Creo que es importante ser honesto con el lector y dar información veraz y contrastada. Si me toca investigar un tema, me tomo el tiempo necesario para concluir la información de manera precisa.
En especial, hay temas delicados como la salud, en los que es fundamental ser rigurosos y no difundir información falsa. No me gustan los influencers porque en mi experiencia, muchos de ellos no son lo que dicen ser. He trabajado en una empresa de noticias y he investigado sobre influencers de salud que resultaron ser falsos. No tenían el tipo de vida que aseguraban y promovían hábitos poco saludables. En mi opinión, es importante no engañar al lector y ser coherente con lo que se promueve.
En definitiva, creo que el secreto para escribir buenos contenidos es ser honesto, riguroso y coherente con lo que se dice. No se trata de inventar o exagerar, sino de ofrecer información relevante y veraz para los lectores.
How have you managed to keep your audience interested in your content over time?
I don't have any magical secrets, I just follow my instincts. I am real and honest in the sense that it is very difficult for me to deal with topics that are not to my liking. For example, I have no knowledge of sports at all, so I try to avoid talking about it. However, in my last job with the marketing agency Blue Window in Malta, I was assigned to subjects of sports, tennis, football, horse riding, cycling, among others. Despite not being my area of interest, I tried to be as professional as possible by giving consistent and true information.
In my opinion, there is a bad habit and a tendency among people who write on the internet to invent, tell lies, exaggerate things and misrepresent information. I do not agree with that. I think it's important to be honest with the reader and give true and proven information. If I have to research a topic, I take the time necessary to conclude the information accurately.
In particular, there are sensitive issues such as health, in which it is essential to be rigorous and not spread false information. I don't like influencers because in my experience, many of them are not what they say they are. I have worked at a news company and have researched health influencers that turned out to be fake. They did not have the kind of life they ensured and promoted unhealthy habits. In my opinion, it is important not to mislead the reader and be consistent with what is promoted.
In short, I believe that the secret to writing good content is to be honest, rigorous and coherent with what is said. It is not about inventing or exaggerating, but about offering relevant and truthful information for readers.

Para mí, estar atento a todos los medios ha sido muy útil. No me limito a buscar información en Google o en Internet, sino que también veo televisión, escucho radio y voy al cine. Tomo inspiración y modelos de diferentes lugares.
En la página mexicana donde trabajé, aprendí algo que considero muy importante para quienes quieren iniciarse o ya están escribiendo y redactando. La noticia o el tema del contenido siempre será el mismo. Por ejemplo, si ocurre un accidente de tren, la noticia siempre será que el tren se estrelló y hubo un número determinado de heridos y muertos. Lo que cambia es el enfoque que le das al contenido. Si repites lo mismo que otros medios, la gente perderá interés. Por eso, es fundamental darle un punto de vista diferente y un enfoque que llame la atención del lector.
Por ejemplo, si estás en un edificio de diez pisos cuando ocurre el accidente de tren, tu perspectiva es diferente a la de alguien que está en la estación de tren o en una acera cercana. La perspectiva que tienes puede hacer que tu contenido sea más interesante y llamativo para los lectores.
Otra cosa importante a tener en cuenta es la imagen. Muchas veces, la gente toma la primera imagen que encuentra en Google o en buscadores de imágenes sin licencia. Sin embargo, la imagen es vital para llamar la atención del lector. Como se suele decir, una imagen vale más que mil palabras. Por eso, es importante buscar una imagen que sea tajante y que llame la atención del lector.
El título también es fundamental para atraer al lector. Debe ser corto pero atractivo, y debe resumir la historia completa. Por ejemplo, en el caso del accidente de tren, "Accidente fatal" podría ser un título que llame la atención. También se puede agregar un subtítulo que complemente la información y que genere curiosidad en el lector.
En resumen, para escribir buenos contenidos es fundamental tener un enfoque diferente al de los demás medios, utilizar imágenes atractivas y buscar títulos cortos pero llamativos. De esta manera, se puede captar la atención del lector y generar interés en el contenido.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start blogging?
For me, keeping an eye on all media has been very useful. I don't just search for information on Google or the Internet, but I also watch TV, listen to the radio, and go to the movies. I take inspiration and models from different places.
In the Mexican page where I worked, I learned something that I consider very important for those who want to start or are already writing and writing. The news or the subject of the content will always be the same. For example, if a train accident occurs, the news will always be that the train crashed and there were a certain number of injuries and deaths. What changes is the approach you give to the content. If you repeat the same thing as other media, people will lose interest. Therefore, it is essential to give a different point of view and an approach that draws the reader's attention.
For example, if you are in a ten-story building when the train accident occurs, your perspective is different to that of someone who is at the train station or on a nearby sidewalk. The perspective you have can make your content more interesting and appealing to readers.
Another important thing to keep in mind is the image. Many times, people take the first image they find on Google or unlicensed image search engines. However, the image is vital to attract the attention of the reader. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. For this reason, it is important to look for an image that is compelling and that draws the reader's attention.
The title is also essential to attract the reader. It should be short but engaging, and it should sum up the whole story. For example, in the case of the train accident, "Fatal Accident" might be an attention-grabbing title. You can also add a subtitle that complements the information and generates curiosity in the reader.
In summary, to write good content it is essential to have a different approach from other media, use attractive images and look for titles short but striking. In this way, you can capture the attention of the reader and generate interest in the content.
¿Cuáles son los mayores retos que has enfrentado como redactor de contenidos y cómo los has superado?
En la actualidad, se generan miles y miles de informaciones por segundo en Internet, lo que hace que sea difícil para los buscadores como Google tomar en cuenta todo lo que se publica. Por eso, es fundamental que el contenido que se comparte sea original y tenga una visión o aspecto que la mayoría de la gente desconozca.
Por ejemplo, si eres un bloguero llamado Reinaldo, en lugar de hablar de los temas comunes que se tratan en tu blog, podrías buscar una parte de ti que la gente no conozca. Por ejemplo, si te gusta hacer trekking, caminar o subir al Avila, podrías compartir ese aspecto de tu vida que pocos conocen. También podrías hablar de tu amor por los animales, como por ejemplo, tu pasión por los gatos.
Para que tu contenido destaque en medio de la gran cantidad de información que se comparte en Internet, es importante enlazar el tema con algo relevante y original, y buscar aspectos de tu vida que la gente desconozca.
What are the biggest challenges you have faced as a content writer and how have you overcome them?
Currently, thousands and thousands of pieces of information are generated on the Internet every second, which makes it difficult for search engines like Google to take into account everything that is published. For this reason, it is essential that the content that is shared is original and has a vision or aspect that most people are unaware of.
