The day I finished all my work schedule, I stay a night at Soekarno Hatta International Airport. Book a Capsule hotel and waiting for my next flight on the next day to my city, Pekanbaru.
I woke up late that day because I have nothing to do and last night I stay up late because I have to monitor my server.
I checked out of the hotel at 11 am, took the elevator to the second floor, and drop my luggage at the check-in area. Walk through some checkpoint and finally I arrive at the main building at Terminal 3.
My flight will depart from gate 25, and now I’m at the 11 gates. It is far, but I still have time until 3 pm, so I still have about 3 hours until my flight.
My stomach is empty, and I have a bit of energy so I decided to stop at a small Restaurant name “The Merchant”. The table is almost full, but luckily there is some table left empty, so I sit at the small table for 2 people and put my bag on the other side.
The waiter comes over and hands me a big book containing the menu in their restaurant. Flipping through the menu book for 5 minutes, I decided to order “the beef meatball” and a glass of warm water, because my throat is itchy caused by the Air Conditioner in the capsule room. Sorry, I cannot get used to the Air Conditioner, it’s better to have a regular fan than Air Conditioner.
After waiting about 8-10 minutes, the waiter server the food on the table. The bowl contains 8 pieces of meatballs, half-sliced boiled egg, white noodles, small sliced cabbage, and some other ingredients, and the dumpling crackers.
And the small bowl contains ketchup, sauce, and chili sauce so you can adjust the spiciness as much as you want.
I put some of the ketchup, sauce, and chili sauce on the main bowl, mix it up and taste it, but it still not spicy enough for me, so I just put all the ketchup, sauce, and chili sauce left in the small bowl to the main bowl.
The meatball is tasted good, but it will be better if you eat it with some soup, so it will help you enjoy it more. I don’t love the boiled egg, but I don’t hate it either. It’s hard for me to eat the egg yolk, but thanks to the soup it helps me a lot.
The sliced cabbage and the white noodle is well cooked, It’s not too hard and not too smooth, so you can enjoy it more while chewing it.
Overall, I love this beef meatball, but it will be perfect if the soup is hotter.
This beef meatball cost about IDR 90.000 or about $6. The price is not overpriced, because the AirPort tax is always high.
In this restaurant, they also have a book store, so if you love reading a book, this is a good place for you to try.
