Today is the Macfit finals, and honestly, I never thought I’d make it this far.I just barely secured a spot in the top 8, and now here I am in the finals, standing alongside a great opponent @merthin. Since I’ve already come this far, I want to make the most out of this opportunity and give it my best. がんばります!💪🏻
First thing in the morning, my master, a stray cat we named Ginger was already demanding breakfast, lol
So it’s Saturday, and it’s also my last weekend in the Philippines before I head off on my next international trip. Can you guess where I'm headed this time? 🤔 It's a busy day ahead since I’ll be meeting friends over lunch, snacks, and dinner. With that schedule, I really had to strategize when to accumulate my steps for the day. Since my first appointment was at lunchtime (and I had to drive an hour and a half to Cebu City), I decided to wake up early and start my workouts right away.
My favorite part of the subdivision is where there are no houses yet. Perfect spot to jog in peace 😆
Here comes the Sun!
I knew it would be tough to add steps later on, so I went for a 20km jog inside the subdivision. I was worried it might rain, but thankfully it didn’t. I started at around 5AM while it was still a little dark, because once the sun gets too high, jogging becomes unbearable for me. I just don’t like running under the heat. Even by 7AM, it already feels so hot and uncomfortable, so the earlier the better. I ran and ran until my toes really started to hurt 😬😬😬
I had to hurry because I could already feel it was about to get hot. The sun comes out so quickly.
My favorite spot to take pictures of His Majesty.
But then it got cloudy, which made me happy because I could keep jogging comfortably.
Phew! Wrapped up my 20km run for the morning.
I cooked Ginataang Langka for breakfast today. I might have overbought groceries last week, so now I have to finish them all before I’ll be away from home again for a month.
It's been a while since I have eaten this food.
After freshening up, I went back to sleep and rested to regain energy for the 1.5hour drive. I don’t want to feel sleepy while driving.
And so, the 1-hour drive turned into 2 hours… hayst
Ayala area. Almost there! Already starving at this point.
My first appointment of the day was a lunch date with @chillquill and another friend. While having our conversation, we mentioned Hive, and that somehow led to us trying to recruit her to join. We were like full-on insurance agents at the restaurant, giving her the whole sales pitch. At one point, @chillquill even whipped out her iPad and started showing our blogs like it was part of a presentation. 😆 All that was missing was a contract for her to sign, haha. 😆😆😆 I was supposed to join them for a Hyrox class, but I told them I had a tournament and honestly no energy left for it today. My original plan was just to hop on a treadmill at the gym, but turns out they didn’t even have one.☹️
My order. The burger is so delicious!
Huge serving for their pasta!
We also walked around the mall to add to my step count and burn off some of the calories from that heavy lunch. At 4PM, @chillquill and I met up with another friend for a much-needed catch-up before we’re gone for a month again. We had dinner at Texas Roadhouse, another Western-style restaurant, and the servings were so huge we couldn’t finish them. The day was definitely filled with good food and lots of laughter (and gossiping LOL). 😆
After dinner, I headed home since I still needed to add more steps. The drive took about an hour and a half because of traffic, and by the time I got home, I was so exhausted that I fell asleep on the couch. I only meant to nap for 5 minutes, but it turned into a full hour, lol. Thankfully, that power nap gave me back some energy, and I pushed myself to do an indoor walk to get more steps in.
Conclusion
All in all, it was such a productive and happy day.🙂 Wow, I hit a personal record 50k steps today!🙀🤯 Big thanks to @macfit for pushing me to my limits. Win or lose, I’ll celebrate this as a personal win!🏆 Looking forward for the next season!
