ENGLISH / INGLÉS Good morning, creative community. Today I'm showing you the drawing I gave my friend Daniel for his birthday. Sometimes, with our dynamic and hectic lives, we forget our friends' birthdays, but someone always reminds us—then it's a mad dash to find a gift. This time, I found out very late, and not wanting to congratulate him without a present, I started drawing him based on a photo I had. It was the craziest and fastest portrait I’ve ever done 😅. First, I created a loose, dynamic watercolor base on cardstock. Once it dried, I began drawing my friend. The time pressure was intense because I’d already be very late for his birthday party—so I had to draw quickly, make it somewhat resemble him, and I couldn’t erase mistakes because it would ruin the watercolor underneath. In the end, despite the rush, I finished the drawing. I was the last friend to arrive at his party, but when he saw the gift, he loved it. I felt flattered, but also a little guilty for not remembering his birthday sooner. Still, what mattered most was that we all got to celebrate and brighten his special day 🥳🎂. Better late than never, right? 😅
To create the portrait, I used:
- HB, 2HB, and 2B pencils
- Cardstock
- Watercolors
- Paintbrush
- Hairspray

Buenos días comunidad creativa. Hoy les muestro el dibujo que le regalé a mi amigo Daniel por su cumpleaños. Algunas veces, por la dinámica y compleja vida que llevamos, se nos olvidan los cumpleaños de nuestros amigos pero siempre alguien nos lo recuerda, entonses, a correr a buscar un regalo. En esta ocasión me enteré muy tarde y para no felicitarlo sin regalo, comencé a dibujarlo basado en una foto que tenía. Fue el retrato más rápido y loco que he realizado😅 Primero creé una base de acuarela con trazos sueltos y dinámicos sobre una cartulina y al secarse la acurela, comencé a dibujar a mi amigo. La presión del tiempo era algo que me presionaba pues llegaría muy tade a su cumpleaños y por eso, tenía que dibujar muy rápido, lograr que se pareciera algo y no podía borrar con la goma porque borraría también la base de acuarela.Al final, a pesar de la presión, logré terminar el dibujo. Fui el último amigo en llegar a su fiesta pero al ver el regalo, le encantó. Me sentí alagado pero al mismo tiempo algo culpable por no acordarme temprano de su cumpleaños pero lo importante fue que todos pudimos festejar y alegrarle su día especial🥳🥳🎂 Es mejor tarde que nunca😅
Para realizar el retrato utilicé: -lápices HB, 2HB y 2B -cartulina -acuarela -pincel -lácar de pelo
