A few days ago, just before sunset—the hour when I usually go out to walk and photograph the street—we couldn’t leave. Life got in the way, as it often does. But I didn’t want the day to pass without hearing the familiar click of the shutter.
So I stayed home, camera in hand, and turned to the small garden my wife lovingly tends. There, in the soft light of the setting sun, I found a new kind of stage.
Backlit leaves, shadows dancing across petals, and a few charming figures: tiny fabric scarecrows, little porcelain characters placed among the plants like guardians or guests of a secret story.
The street wasn’t there that day—but something else was. A stillness, a different rhythm, and a reminder that the urge to create doesn’t always need a grand stage. Sometimes, it only needs a little light and a bit of attention.
Hace unos días, justo antes del atardecer—esa hora en la que usualmente salimos a caminar y fotografiar la calle—no pudimos salir. La vida se interpuso, como suele pasar. Pero no quería que el día terminara sin escuchar el clic familiar del obturador.
Así que me quedé en casa, cámara en mano, y me volví hacia el pequeño jardín que mi esposa cuida con tanto cariño. Allí, en la luz suave del sol poniente, encontré otro tipo de escenario.
Hojas a contraluz, sombras bailando sobre los pétalos, y unas figuras encantadoras: pequeños espantapájaros de tela, muñequitos de porcelana entre las plantas, como guardianes o invitados de una historia secreta.
La calle no estuvo presente ese día—pero algo más sí lo estuvo. Una quietud, otro ritmo, y el recordatorio de que el impulso de crear no siempre necesita un gran escenario. A veces, solo hace falta un poco de luz y algo de atención.
