When boredom kicks in, so does our urge to go outside and not please it the whole day. I might be fond of going to beaches or to the city when I have long breaks, but yesterday, I had to literally break the convenience.

Instead of going far from home, I painted some footsteps in a popular cafe standing in the same town I live in and made good memories with my close friends in the said place. For a snap, this blog will share my experience in a cafe called Uncle Brew—the mightiest and calmest haven for cafe and coffee infatuators.

My close friend and I decided to go out last night because we didn't have any classes. Instead of just staying at home, we thought it would be nice to chill somewhere and talk.

We went to Uncle Brew, a coffee shop that’s just five minutes away from our location. We got there about 7 PM, and I became infatuated with the shop from the moment I saw it. The whole place looked so aesthetic, cozy, and relaxing. The shop's design and atmosphere made it feel warm and welcoming, while its affordable menu made it perfect for students like us who want to have fun but also need to save money.

I decided to get a Matcha Cheesecake for only ₱99. I don't really have a strong preference for coffee, but it is my go-to drink when I need to stay awake while studying. My friend Mekyla, on the other hand, ordered a Caramel Macchiato for ₱99 and also got a Ham and Egg Pancake for ₱99. Since the pancake was split into two pieces, we shared it. We made a deal to split the bill so that we could save more. The fact that we can enjoy great food without spending a lot of money is something I truly appreciate.

When I looked around, I noticed how nice the pastry display and the counter looked. The menu board was also easy to read, and the staff was very welcoming. They greeted us with a smile and were polite when taking our orders. Small things like that really add to the experience and make customers feel comfortable.

As soon as our food and drinks arrived, I immediately snapped a few pictures to remember the moment. The food was presented in a neat and simple way, yet it looked really good. My friend said her commendable phrases to the food price that it was justice-served and I completely agreed. The price we paid was worth it in terms of taste and presentation. I cannot explain it in words because I was momentarily pleased to the taste and forgot the present moment. Of course, we didn’t forget to take photos of ourselves too. It's always a pleasure to capture those little moments so we can look back on them in the future.

We stayed there for a while, just talking, laughing, and enjoying the night. The shop's calm and peaceful atmosphere made it the ideal spot for relaxing. I experienced a sense of time slowing down, and I was able to fully enjoy being in the moment with my friend. Sometimes, it's not about doing something major or fancy—it's just about spending time with the individuals who are important to you. When writing this blog, it came to my realization that my people—the individuals I sorround myself with—are very important to keep my sanity and growth.

Before we left, I thought to myself that I would be really happy to come back here again. The reason why I like it is that it's affordable, the food is great, the drinks are satisfying, and the atmosphere is welcoming. I would recommend Uncle Brew to anyone, especially students like us who want a nice and budget-friendly place to hang out. Students often go here when class breaks are too long—it’s friendly to their daily allowances and lets them eat without the burden of money loss.
Although it seemed like a simple night, it turned out to be a memorable one. These nights remind me that happiness can be found in the small things, such as a slice of cake, a good drink, a comfortable place, and the company of a good friend. What started as usual boredom led to a happy memory I want to keep forever. Cakes and coffees are sweet, and so is the life and experience I live.
