Hi dear Hivers! I just want to share our trip last September 27 before the earthquake happened. We have a small band, but it was only an acoustic setup, not the full band. We went to Matahom Paradise in Kawit, Medellin, Cebu because there was a wedding event. We arrived around 5pm, and that was my first time going there. When we entered the place, I was so amazed — it looked like Bali! The design was Bali-style, with palm trees, white sand, and nice swimming pools.

In my pictures, you can see that the place is really beautiful. They even have their own pool! I think it’s good for families or barkada trips. I told myself that if I have money someday, I really want to go back there because it’s near our place and I like that kind of resort — very aesthetic and relaxing. It was already evening that time so I didn’t walk around much, but the sunset view was super nice!

While my bandmates were setting up the instruments, I didn’t have much to do since I’m the vocalist, so I just took pictures and looked around a bit. I didn’t go too far because we were about to start. When the event started, we played wedding and love songs while enjoying the place. I’m really thankful that I’m part of a band because we get to visit many different places.

After that, dinner started and the food was really good! We were so full, and the staff there were very kind. After our first set, they let us eat right away. You can really see that the food looked delicious and well-prepared.

And of course, there are fun water activities that you can try! You can do kayaking if you want something chill, or ride a jet ski for more excitement. They also have flyfish rides and diablo, which are fun if you’re with friends. If you want more adventure, you can go for a speedboat ride, banana boat, wakeboarding, or island hopping to enjoy the sea and the view.

So if you are planning to visit northern Cebu, you should really check out Matahom Paradise. It gives that Bali-style vibe and a peaceful feeling. I hope I can go back there soon because the place is beautiful, relaxing, and has so many water activities. It’s a bit expensive, but I’ll start saving money now so I can experience that Bali resort feeling again.
