Although I've always been a Roku user (or, failing that, Android TV), a couple of days ago I had the opportunity to use an Amazon Fire Stick TV for the first time on a large scale. This device has recently gained significant popularity thanks to its modified version of Android, as well as a wide range of apps that aren't usually found on any TV box, such as Fortnite or Xbox GamePass.

Although my use of these devices tends to be quite conservative (I only use it for YouTube, Spotify, and the occasional TV streaming app like Netflix or HBO Max), I must admit that after overcoming the tedious installation process (which offers several subscription options for various services), Amazon's operating system combines the best of both worlds, blending the accessibility and user-friendly experience of something like Apple TV or Roku with the level of customization we expect from any Android TV.
The version I had the opportunity to use was the Amazon Fire Stick 4K, with Wi-Fi 6 and a 1.7 GHz processor. Any form of everyday use will feel quite fluid, although I need to test it with more demanding tasks.

I admit, I prefer the minimalism offered by other operating systems, but I like the fact that every element of its interface is designed to offer us options for "watching things," such as those exclusive Amazon Fire Stick channels that even include free content.

The Amazon Fire Stick TV follows a slightly more inquisitive philosophy than other TV boxes, allowing us, depending on the brand of our television, to use its remote as the main control, turning the device on and off, or controlling the volume.
It's a particularly useful solution for those who don't have a smart TV, and we must admit that its software performance is quite decent.

As if that weren't enough, the Android app allows us to control the TV very comfortably, enabling the microphone option and eliminating the hassle of typing with the directional pad.
