The Last Night of the Eternal Duo… for the #monomad challenge

Hello, black and white photography lovers,

Today I want to share a photo series that marked a turning point in my journey as a photographer.
These images were taken during the last concert of Yomil & El Dany at La Tropical, back in 2020.
A few days later, El Dany tragically passed away, and these photos stopped being just memories… they became legacy.

That night, I wasn’t supposed to be shooting.
I was learning the craft of lighting design, and it was meant to be my first big concert experience.
But as a beginner, I wasn’t allowed to do the job.
So I stepped aside, grabbed my camera, and made the most of the moment: from behind the stage, where I was permitted to stay.

I had my Canon 60D, switching between the 70-300mm and the 50mm lenses.
Limited in space and access, I worked between cables, lights, smoke, and raw emotion.
There’s no setup here; just sweat, connection, and truth.

Time and tragedy gave these shots a deeper meaning.
I later reached out to Yomil personally and handed him these photos; not just as a photographer, but as someone who understood that the man beside him on stage was more than a partner: he was his brother.

Today, I share them with you not as a technical achievement, but as a human testimony.
Because black and white strips everything down… and forces us to see what truly matters.

Thank you for looking.
Thank you for feel.
