Today was particularly hot, so we decided to give Muning and Maning a bath. I wanted to take pictures of their first bath, but unfortunately, they thrashed so much when we put them in water so instead of taking pics I ended up assisting my sister in bathing them. We really struggled to get their bath done, but thankfully we managed to evade their scratches and get it done.

After they took a bath, I wrapped them in our old clothes to dry them then we carefully removed the fleas that had been sticking to them. They get those from Chicha who likes to explore outside our house. Fortunately, after the bath, we were able to remove most of them, which was such a tedious feat because we one by one picked them out their fur, and then killed them afterwards.

It soon became hotter as noon came, and later on, after I finished doing some of the house chores I decided to rest for a while. But before I proceed to my bed, I already saw them snuggling together. It's been a week since the new kitten arrived and now we already have a name for him, and it's Chipi~

He's still so tiny until now, however last Thursday, his ears somehow opened and he can now hear, and also just this early morning he now opened his eyes! It was really heartwarming moment because it was my first time witnessing something like that. Muning and Maning were heavily guarded by her mother before, and Chicha hid them in the darkest part of space below our cabinet, so we haven't seen them grow day by day.

Also, I mentioned to you last week that the kittens were wary of Chipi's presence, but after days of observing him, they eventually got used to him. Of 'course there's still that competition during the time they're feeding on their mother's milk, but Chipi—like them, had learned to cope with their harsh plays. He now was able to avoid some of Maning's kicks and Muning's neck bites. It was really adorable seeing them sleep together!

I as well admire Chicha because she's able to handle her kittens and also Chipi so well. I still don't know where she got him, but what really matters now is that she still cares for him. Even though they're most possibly not related, she still cared for that tiny kitten...and seeing how they snuggle and sleep peacefully warms my heart.
