Today is the birthday of my favorite character from Project Loki—Lorelei “Lori” Rios. Ever since my high school years, I’ve been a fan of her and the novel. Their story really left a lot of memories, and even up until now, it’s still nice to reminisce about them. I even made several fanarts about them before; however, after the story ended, that’s where I started to lose the will to make one, plus I also got immersed with other Wattpad novels. By that time, the number of my usual fanarts decreased until I stopped making them, but when I saw the announcement of its live action recently, I got intrigued by it.

My initial reaction to its live adaptation was, *of course*, not that nice. I’m not fond of live adaptations because they tend to ruin my imagination and also disappoint me most of the time. Yet after watching the teaser, I’m somehow hopeful because the casting seemed pretty decent. Naturally, it wasn’t a hundred percent copy of the character, but anyway, I’m relieved because the main duo—*my OTP* was serving looks. They somehow managed to capture the aura of the characters, so for that I’m certainly looking forward. Ok! Enough with my ramblings—I’ll now share with you the fanart I’ve made for Lori's birthday!
The Process:
**1.** First, I draw a rough sketch of her facial structure.

**2.** Then I erase the unnecessary lines and make a clean sketch out of it.

**3.** Without further ado, I proceed to color her.

**4.** After coloring most of it, I added more *birthday-ish* details on her.

**5.** Next, I added highlights and other details with watercolor pencils, markers, and a black pen.

**6.** I’m already done with her when I realize something—this fanart needs Loki Mendez!

*So chibi Loki it is.*
>And I’m done!

It took me a lot of erasing to finally decide to draw her in Detective Conan art style. I don’t know, but when I tried to draw her in my usual drawing style, it didn’t look and feel like her, so I think of any familiar art style I’ll try to emulate, and Detective Conan suddenly popped out of my mind. The author of Project Loki likes that anime series, and also, I somehow experienced getting addicted to that anime before, especially way back the time I’m on my vacation days during my elementary years. It aired on our local channel at that time, so I was able to watch considerable number of episodes of it. So today I tried to recall their art style, and just to be on the safe side, I searched for their [art style reference](https://share.google/images/pNSucVO26fvhAQKaN).

Honestly, I think I wasn’t able to copy the Detective Conan-like art style, but on the bright side, I’m quite satisfied with how the fan art turned out. It wasn’t as nice as the previous fanarts I made, yet I’m happy I was able to draw Lori in a way I like. I think that’s enough sharing for today everyone—I hope I can make more fanarts in the coming days—if fortunately, there won’t be a lot of reporting and demos coming. But if there are, please do wish me luck.
