Art Blog #9: The Procrastination That Lasted Longer

That question has been bugging me lately. Like I've fully visualized the OC I'm going to draw, and then when I proceed to draw it, I always end up changing some or most of its details. An example of this indecisiveness is the newest OC I've finished. This OC has been sitting for sooo long in my sketchbook because I don't have the will to finish it. It's not that I'm having art block— it's just I'm not ready to finish it *(in short I'm procrastinating lol)*.

*This picture is the **initial sketch**—no details yet because I know I'm about to change it because I find it off.*

***Drawing on the other page** of my sketchbook, like I said I'm not having an art block...just procrastinating ~~and quite afraid to mess it up~~.* I don't why I always tend to change something along the way, maybe it depends on my current mood. For example, the hair of my OC was supposed to be short and straight, but anyway, I ended up making it quite curly because my mood at that time was pushing me to get *experimental* and try the curly which I stuck with until the coloring *(which I kinda regret because the short one somehow looks cute)*.

*This picture is my **supposed final sketch** for my OC, but unfortunately, I changed some of the details while I was doing the coloring.*

*While this picture is my **almost done OC**—it just need some pop of colors which I'll be adding in...months later haha* Also, I think the urgency to finish it somehow affected my will to finish my oc. I don't think I don't have a reason to rush it, so the OC that supposedly I should have finished in June last year *(I checked the first time I took a picture of it, and indeed I've been procrastinating for a long time!)* just got finished this afternoon.

*Adding color to her lips because she looks like she's going to faint lol.*

*Fixing some of my mistakes with my MVM—the white acrylic paint!* Overall, my experience in finishing this OC was quite long. I made a lot of mistakes, especially when I did the hair and background. Thankfully, I somehow fixed it with a considerable amount of acrylic paint which was the MVM *(most valuable material)* in my stuff. I'm really clumsy and often a person who draws according to my whims rather than my plans, so it's natural that I mostly make a lot of mistakes. Also, I have this odd tendency to experiment on almost the finishing moments of my drawing process—some of them turned out nice and some turned out pretty bad, like really bad—so white acrylic is really a drawing saver for me. Anyway despite the mishaps, I still enjoyed the process and for me the most important thing I get from it is the enjoyment which is definitely worth it.

*My finished OC* I intentionally blurred the OC on the right side because I haven't finished it yet *haha*. Anyway, that's all for now Hivers! See you on my next art blog~
