Our classes have already started since Monday, but until now I'm still adjusting my schedule. I'm still not used to our new class schedule, so my body somehow revolted against it. And that's why it took days for me to even start and eventually finish this review. Enough with that, be with me as I share with you another Filipino movie about two fools who choose to be in a relationship and navigate towards their almost-love story filled with yearnings and uncertainties. --- ##### About the Movie ![IMG_20250816_133022.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ridgette/Eo8K2pWvUjogzYZCqAnVmxHUGuxoUzua9JG4LeeMaP4pEhCfZswVJ14nbaSBtR6XArU.jpg) **Tayo Muna Habang Hindi Pa Tayo** is a romantic drama movie that was released in 2019. This more than an hour movie, is written and directed by Denise O'Hara. So when it started was kinda of uncertain because this is like a mix of past and present, but the gist of it is that surely the main characters were both in love with each other. However, it seems that both of them aren't ready for a serious relationship. Probably because one is constantly on the move while the other is still stuck in the past, and with that, they're really bound to drift away from each other. ![IMG_20250816_115929.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ridgette/Ep7uX266xG11WozUsNv1KthW79zX1VQWPY5fJ8K8rxVW8QomvbHtShfhjzmFbk6gQBT.jpg) Alex is a headstrong woman who always knows and does whatever she wants. She's always the driven, ambitious and even aggressive type—basically the definition of a strong independent woman. On the other hand, Carlo is quite the opposite of her, but despite that, these two still complement each other. But a problem arose when Alex sought a labeled relationship—one that could give her assurance. Carlo is still not over the pain he had dealt with in his previous relationship, and so their unlabeled companionship crumbled under the weight of doubts and hatred. Amidst the moving out banters and outbursts bloom a familiarity that both of them feel. *Can they still be together even if they aren't... yet?* ![IMG_20250816_120651.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ridgette/23t72srUNUozTi3hgcC6AuE2eksg7zThjSdkzbUiZYS4SWnHbQvhYn1oaWHZqH7J3Pud9.jpg) --- At first, the storytelling felt odd because I'm not certain what they're trying to convey. The first half is like a mix of points of view that somehow felt unfamiliar to me. But as the time passed, I realized what those abrupt shifts in point of view meant. The plot of this movie wasn't lengthy and even though it took me a while to really grasp the whole idea of their situation, it felt satisfying when I finally understood them. I didn't read any synopsis or watch its trailer, so this one is one of the movies I watched without any single idea of what it's all about. The poster and title just intrigued me, and so I gave it a try. ![IMG_20250816_120234.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ridgette/EoEjARoktZdymVsV5pqVxdswcRJx6NJXAJSXbdmTKs2v6HWNmDxG6Dug8qhtHhxXMSQ.jpg) Which I didn't regret because the story is beautiful. I'm not new to this kind of storytelling where there's a constant shift between timelines, but of course, it felt confusing at first. It's like unboxing a big box only to find out that there's still a box and another box and another until it's just a small box. I thought it would be just another cliche breakup story with them getting together again in the end. But it's not because it's apparent that they aren't ready for it. Well, they tried to, but a relationship won't fully become one when one of them isn't ready to commit. ![IMG_20250816_133232.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ridgette/Eo8RNqTp6e3GzQbkc82eiNok6VGC4cqzSMinubTVaGEZyZFb4KjnSjnPp1kCKXXaPnc.jpg) Further, this movie is full of insights, and I like how the writer stressed the weight of commitment in a relationship because nowadays, it's more like relationships are so fragile. They're so easy to break because they're just built on emotions, and emotions are temporary. Once they're gone, all becomes lost and meaningless. I really felt the frustration of Alex when she sought a label in their relationship, but I can't invalidate the sentiments of Carlo. He's a nice guy, but the girl he'd spent his world in for two years just did him so wrong, plus he was left to deal with the damage alone. That's why it's understandable that he's afraid to commit again. ![IMG_20250816_120459.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ridgette/Eos1GbT1L51UXCvc1Lu9BvYZrUNW4pfRdbsuQEYFJR9zDamY7SdELdzgGxTUeMavLhE.jpg) The right people in the wrong time—it's definitely one of the tropes I'm fond of. There's a little bit of comedy in their uncertain love story, but I'm not sure if it's for everyone because it's more like Filipino humor, and I think not everyone can get what they mean. There aren't many characters in it or settings, yet I felt that it conveyed the whole story just right. I'm really amazed by how the actors and actresses portrayed their roles, especially Alex, who resonates much with me. The way she portrayed feminine rage was just so real because the emotions felt raw and affecting, and I wouldn't deny that I would do that also if I were in her shoes, because like her, I'm also quite impatient. ![IMG_20250816_121001.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ridgette/23uEwtzRBh79iNkquMnzsGgVkZcEij3PieCT7L48xdfFr424vsL9GfEzNDGj4ieTKjPCU.jpg) As for its end, it's kind of open-ended because you don't know what could happen next. Well, most romantic movies do have this kind of end, but it's the end that I'll never get tired of watching in every different version of it. I especially don't like a happy ever after end, but I don't have against those hopeful ones that leave much interpretation for the viewers. They aren't exactly happy or tragic, just the kind that will make you stop and ponder for a while. Overall, watching this movie was an insightful experience, and with that, I give it an **8/10**. The concept of the story wasn't that out of the box, yet they managed to deliver a meaningful message from it. So if you want to watch a not-so-lengthy movie with a nice message about relationship, then give this movie a try. And before I end this review, I'll share with you its trailer, so—
