PASSION IS NEVER ENOUGH

People recently care more about making money than making an impact in the world. We see businesses everywhere for the sole aim of making profit, schools, hospitals, and even churches are open typically because the owner wants to make money in the form of profit, not minding if the practice will impact on society so as long as their profit still comes in.

Doctors and even teachers enter into this profession to make money; some teachers might not even be qualified to teach, yet they still go ahead to look for teaching positions in schools, and since the proprietor of the school is only out there to make money and not to impact and educate, they tend to even employ the unqualified to pay them peanuts.

Having passion in these days and times, many will say they will not foot your bills or put food on your table. The world has become a very difficult place, where everyone is out there struggling for their survival. I came across a post on social media recently about how things have become very difficult in comparison to the past, which is the time of our parents’ generation. Where they get to build their families in their thirties, while we are doing more, but are unable to afford to pay rent with more effort we are putting in.

Having to go back to the time when people get into a profession for the passion they have for it or because they enjoyed it will be very difficult. This is so because of what the economy has turned into; people are all out there trying to survive the economy, and they do anything just to survive. It will be lovely to find people who don’t go into crime and will rather go into a business or profession they are not passionate about or are fond of. People go into crime these days just to survive and if the problem is about having people doing or are engaged in what they are not passionate about, for as long as they are practicing it lawfully and are impacting in the lives of others, it is an acceptable evil in comparison to having people go into crime because of what the economy have turned them into.

I have owned two business of my own, I once owned a small poultry farm and also a computer business centre, but of which I enjoyed doing but I will assure you that the main motive of me for starting these business was not because of the passion I had for it, the first was because I wanted to make profit but as I came along I became passionate about the business and I devoted my time to learn more ablout animal farming as a whole, while the other was just due to an opportunity which presented it self to me at the time, I also later became passionate about the trade, but I will tell you this for free that the passion in which I grew for the business did not keep the business alive.

Passion without money will not hold; only a non-profit organisation will have a business that is not to make a profit. Your passion must feed at some time, which makes it difficult to find a business that is all about passion; passion must be backed by the ability to make money, if not, the business will not last.
