I'll be moving again in a few months and I need to find somewhere new. I'm on the east coast, south of DC, north of Atlanta right now and it's too "south" for me. I'm just not happy with it. It's not a big city(I'm from Chicago) and it's missing a lot of things that I'm used to. Plus the people seem colder inside even if they are "warm" outwardly. Everyone has their own groups and isn't willing to interact with new people. Back in Chicago, people seem cold, but will actually be willing to talk to you and accept you as a friend. It just feels nicer. I don't know how to describe it.
Now it's not as easy as "I'll move to XYZ". I need to think about work and rent and all that. I'd love to come back to Chicago and I think if all goes well I will. But rent isn't the cheapest here. Then there's the option to move to smaller cities. But then poof goes the job 😁. There's also the option to go to cities like NYC and SF. But we all know how expensive those cities are.
My current rent is set to go up about 20% on renewal so I'm looking for somewhere new. This is going to be a fun time.
