When it comes to food, I like to rank mine by sweetness and nutrition. At the very top of the list is vegetable leaf soup with garri. It isn’t just delicious, it is packed with nutrients and often serves as a natural blood syrup, giving the body strength and vitality. Eating it feels like treating both the tongue and the body at the same time.

Next comes rice and plantain—sweet, filling, and always comforting. There is something about the golden plantain beside steaming rice that makes even a simple meal feel like a small celebration. It is rich in taste, though not as deeply nourishing as vegetable soup.
Finally, yam settles at the bottom. Though it is filling and can be prepared in different ways, it doesn’t quite match the sweetness of plantain or the nutritional benefits of vegetable soup. For me, yam is more of a backup dish than a first choice. These are my major meals when it comes to food, and if you ask me, this is how I can rank it.
