We had never used a computer system for writing exams in our school. But one day, the school authority declared that henceforth, all exams would be CBT-based without proper preparation made. Some people, including students, opposed the idea, but for the sake of what they stood to gain, the authorities insisted.
Fine. The day for implementing the policy came. Students paid, registered their courses, and waited for exam time to arrive.
When the day came, we entered the hall ready for the test, only to discover that the exam scheduled from 8 to 10 would instead run from 11 to 5. The reason? Lack of good systems, faulty computers, and not enough functional halls to accommodate us. We were moved from one place to another in a bid to find rooms with working computers.
By the end of the day, we were stressed, drained, and aching from all the back-and-forth. And guess what? The examination was as smooth as sandpaper.
