After some feedback from @honeydue, I thought I'd add something on the back cover of my Amazon published book of Hive short stories. It's definitely not as intuitive as you'd think, and it took a bit of fiddling. However, I'm happy enough with the final design. After all, it's only to gift to friends and family.

Seems to design a book cover on Canva, it's not particularly intuitive. Sure, you can get a front page and use their templates, but to get a full wrap around as KDP and other book publishing companies require, you need to get a template that includes the spine and back cover, which you can get off KDP. I put this into Canva, made sure the size was right, made it transparent, and adjusted my own image and text to this.

I also had to make sure the image was 300 DPI for printing, so it was back to Midjourney to find the original image, and then I uploaded it to this site which converts it to 300 DPI. Phew. What a rigmarole. Perhaps it's easier if I follow the video 'how to' online but I don't watch videos - I find them time consuming! Give me print intructions any time, please!

Even when I uploaded it, it didn't seem right. I was getting increasingly frustrated. Then, the proof came through the post and my margins were all wrong. I also read it and discovered a heap of errors I didn't pick up, so had to spend a few more hours getting it right. There were little frustrating things like the margins not being right and I just couldn't wrap my head around getting the page set up right in my original document. So when Amazon adjusted it automatically, little errors would happen. I had to download the PDF a few times before I was happy with it. In the end I took out the illustrations as they didn't land on the page I wanted them to, and I couldn't be bothered trying to figure it out.

Now I've got to the point where I feel it is what it is. No one is going to read it anyway!
