This is a world filled with uncertainty so it's a natural thing for people to desire to know about the future. But there's only one being who holds the full knowledge of the future. According to Isaiah 46:9-10;
"For I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done…”
From this passage, we can understand that the future lies solely in His hands.
But from time immemorial, God has always chosen to reveal certain events to His prophets and His servants. Let us read Amos 3:7; it says;
"Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets."
In the book of Daniel 2:28;
“But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days.”
For His divine purpose, God reveals the future to a few. But He doesn't want us to seek to know the future through divination, or through sorcery, palm reading and occultism. This warning is contained in Deuteronomy 18:10–12;
“There shall not be found among you... a diviner, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch... For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD...”
Even when we don't know what tomorrow may bring, God owns our future and He knows what is best for us. That's more than enough.
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart… and He shall direct thy paths.” – Proverbs 3:5–6
