Domestic violence is A SIN AGAINST LOVE AND GOD and not just a social issue. It is against what the word of God teaches. The Bible teaches us that God hates violence according to Psalm 11:5;

"The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, he hates with a passion."

The Bible also teaches us that God is love, so God cannot be found in a home where violence is.

Love Does Not Hurt according to 1 Corinthians 13:4-5

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud... It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs."

So, any relationship void of this kind of love is not the intention of God for us.

  1. Husbands Are Called to Love, Not to Harm.

"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it." — Ephesians 5:25

Any home that is filled with fear instead of love is not a godly home.

"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear..." This is written in the book of 1 John 4:18

To every husband out there involved in domestic violence, repent. Abuse is a sin against God, love and humanity.

“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out…” This is according to Acts 3:19.

The church must not be silent. It must not force people to remain in an abusive marriage because Jesus came to set the captives free and does not wish anyone to be kept in bounds of any kind.
