Welcome to Kuala Simpang // A suitable tourist destination to enjoy the afternoon atmosphere in the old town of Aceh Tamiang

In this post I will share my experience when visiting a monument that is an icon of Aceh Tamiang, the location of this monument is very strategic, namely on the slopes of the highlands, so that anyone will be able to see this monument, this monument will greet everyone who comes to Aceh Tamiang. I have seen several videos on my social media that show the beauty and uniqueness of this monument so that it makes me curious to visit it directly. So today, precisely at 13.00 I immediately made this trip, this trip started from my uncle's house, I'm not sure how far the distance is, what is certain is that I only need about 15 minutes to get there.

I don't know for sure the name of this bridge, but according to the information I know, this bridge is the longest bridge in Aceh Tamiang, even this bridge was once compared with the bridge in Peudada sub-district, Bireuen district, I admit this bridge is indeed very long. What's more interesting is that after we pass this bridge we will immediately arrive at the center of Kuala Simpang city, you know what makes me still confused about Kuala Simpang sub-district? What makes me confused until now is that Kuala Simpang is actually a sub-district, but many local residents call it a city, I don't know why

Finally I arrived at the city center of Kuala Simpang, here I stopped because of the red light, while waiting for the green light to turn on I also took the time to capture several moments that showed the condition of the city buildings to a monument in the middle of the intersection, the surrounding atmosphere looked so busy with various types of community activities, the obstacle at that time was the weather was very hot, and as soon as the green light turned on I immediately continued my journey.

I took this trip very leisurely, the reason was because I wanted to enjoy every moment and view that the city of Kuala Simpang had to offer. What was even more interesting was that the city of Kuala Simpang in Aceh Tamiang directly borders the Province of North Sumatra, so the distance between Kuala Simpang and the city of Medan was not too far anymore.

After passing through the city center of Kuala Simpang, finally from the side of the road I found a mosque building, the weather at that time was very hot, making me easily tired and stuffy, so at that time I decided to stop by the mosque area to rest for a moment.

After resting enough, I immediately continued my journey,after traveling for about 5 minutes, I finally arrived at my destination, namely the monument which is the icon of Aceh Tamiang.

As I said before, this monument was built on a plateau or on a hill, so that this monument can be seen clearly from the highway, apart from being on a hill, this monument is also on a bend in the road so that this monument can be seen by those traveling from the west or east.

I felt unsatisfied with just seeing this monument from the main road, so I immediately looked for the entrance to the monument, and finally managed to find it. Arriving at the monument area, I immediately parked my motorbike under a shady tree,at that time, I saw no one there, which immediately made me more alert.

And finally, the monument was before my eyes, and around it was a small garden filled with ornamental plants that made the atmosphere look green and fresh. At that moment, I could conclude that this place was perfect for an afternoon visit, taking in the peaceful and tranquil natural surroundings and watching the traffic from the highway.

However, it is very unfortunate that some parts of this monument look like they have fallen off, the paint color has also faded, so it can be concluded that this monument must immediately receive special care, especially since this monument is one of the icons of Aceh Tamiang, so don't let a place as beautiful as this be neglected.

According to the information I got from local residents, this monument used to be one of the tourist destinations that was always crowded with visitors, especially in the afternoon, lots of people flocked to this place just to spend their afternoon, this place was so interesting that there were several brides who took their pre-wedding photos at this monument, but now this monument is no longer very popular and is even rarely visited, hopefully this place will soon get special care so that it will attract visitors to visit it again.

From a distance, these plants look very fresh and fertile, but when we get closer, we can see that there is a lot of dust pollution from vehicles stuck to the leaves of the plants, making the color look a little dirty (only visible from a close distance),but still this place is one of the best places in Aceh Tamiang.
