My friends and I made a spontaneous visit to the Baluarte Zoo which was just 10 minutes away from the university we are attending. This Baluarte Zoo was located in Vigan City, Philippines, a historical place and one of the wonder cities of the world.

Never did we plan about this, but I think nothing comes without any purpose. And I know that one of the purposes of this visit was for us to relax and enjoy after facing lots of paperwork which was so stressful.

When we arrived at the place, we first went to the HR desk to ask some queries and pay for the entrance fee. The fee was around 100-200 pesos depending on the package you want to avail, this has already a scooter to ride on while you are roaming around the Zoo. They also offer a free entrance visit, but I prefer if you will visit this place you should avail the package because the place is too vast to be walked. But if you prefer walking then I think it is a dual purpose for you– it serves as your enjoyment and exercise as well haha.

While you are roaming around you will first see the vast ground where deer, birds, and the famous Kalesa were freely wandering in the place.

You will also see the famous Dinosaur statue together with the Zoo name where you can take beautiful pictures with your loved ones. If you will go and visit this place I encourage you to take pictures in this part because it is the iconic part of the Baluarte.

When you visit further you will also see the Golden House. It is called the Golden House because it was made with an artificial gold material. It is also good here when you want to take photos. So, if it is your hobby to do photography, you will surely love it!

And if you also go up–the zoo is like a hill though–, you will see the Safari Gallery. This is where the former governor and the owner of the zoo displayed his art—preserved animals' heads. I know, killing animals is a cruel thing, and as an animal lover I am also sad seeing those, but at the same time you will also feel amazed and ask questions such as: "How come he does all these?" The place is also well-ventilated in order to preserve the artifacts.

As someone living nearby, this zoo never fails to amaze me and I know when you come and visit this place you will feel the same too, for, it is not just an ordinary zoo, it is a Baluarte Zoo.
