"Aetérnum" exposición fotográfica en el C.C. Sambil 📸 [Esp/Eng]

Los centros comerciales hace mucho que dejaron de ser solo lugares enormes para ir de compras, y con el tiempo se han ido convirtiendo en un lugar de encuentro entre amigos, un lugar para salir a caminar, despejar la mente, comer algo rico e incluso disfrutar del arte en sus diferentes manifestaciones, así es como ahora los vemos llenos de exposiciones y presentaciones artísticas, que van desde pintura, escultura, fotografía, música, danzas y un sin fin de actividades culturales que sin lugar a dudas son un gran atractivo. >Shopping malls have long ceased to be just huge places to go shopping, and over time have become a meeting place for friends, a place to go for a walk, clear the mind, eat something delicious and even enjoy art in its different manifestations, so now we see them full of exhibitions and artistic presentations, ranging from painting, sculpture, photography, music, dance and endless cultural activities that are undoubtedly a great attraction.   De los tres centros comerciales que tenemos en la isla el C.C. Parque Costa Azul es el que sin dudas lleva la bandera en cuanto a todo el movimiento artístico, seguido de cerca por el C.C. Sambil que inició con actividades de tipo culturales y a la fecha ha incluido en algunos de sus pasillos exposiciones de pintura y fotografía de artistas de la isla, siendo el lugar donde generalmente realizan estas exposiciones el pasillo donde se encuentra el **Mc Caffè** y que conduce a las puertas **Playa Manzanillo y Playa la Restinga**, y en una de mis últimas visitas me encontré con una exposición fotográfica genial y, que confieso se están convirtiendo en mis favoritas. Esta tenía por nombre **Aetérnum** y era una muestra bastante variada de fotógrafos de la **escuela de fotografía Alejandro Sayegh**, ubicada en la E/S Los Robles, Av. Jóbito Villalba en la Redoma de Los Rokles (por si les interesa), y que formaba parte del proyecto de graduación de sus estudiantes.

Of the three shopping malls we have on the island, the Parque Costa Azul Shopping Center is the one that undoubtedly leads the flag in terms of the whole artistic movement, followed closely by the Sambil Shopping Center, which began with cultural activities and to date has included in some of its corridors painting and photography exhibitions of artists from the island. The place where these exhibitions are usually held is the corridor where the **Mc Caffè** is located and that leads to the doors **Playa Manzanillo and Playa la Restinga** and in one of my last visits I came across a photographic exhibition, which I confess is becoming my favorite. This one was called **Aetérnum** and it was a quite varied sample of photographers from the **escuela de fotografía Alejandro Sayegh**, located in E/S Los Robles, Av. Jóbito Villalba in Redoma de Los Rokles, in case you are interested and it was part of the graduation of their students.

    Como les digo, era una muestra variada, donde participaron más de 10 fotógrafos que compartieron sus trabajos con un enfoque en *"la fotografía como el arte de pintar con la luz"* y que llenó el pasillo con 27 fotografías que compartían desde retratos, paisajes, lugares emblemáticos de la isla, así como también fotografías con intervención digital con un gran impacto visual, pero como siempre, mis favoritas serán los retratos que nos muestran a personajes de nuestros pueblos en su día a día, y una que otra fotografía digital porque en serio el resultado es brutal. Estaban desplegadas a lo largo del pasillo junto con la identificación del autor y un pequeño escrito con el nombre de la pieza, y lo que esta representa para su autor, cosa que me pareció bastante genial, porque te da una idea de lo que el artista quiso transmitir.

As I say, it was a varied exhibition, where more than 10 photographers participated and shared their work with a focus on *"photography as the art of painting with light "* and filled the hallway with 27 photographs that shared from portraits, landscapes, emblematic places of the island, as well as photographs with digital intervention with a great visual impact, but as always, my favorites will be the portraits that show us characters of our people in their day to day, and one or another digital photography because seriously the result is brutal. They were displayed along the aisle along with the identification of the author and a small writing with the name of the piece, and what it represents for its author, which I thought was pretty cool and in many cases with a very interesting interpretation.

         Debo decir que de todas, mi favorita fue la primera fotografía que es un retrato donde se puede ver a una señora fumando un tabaco artesanal de esos que acostumbran a armar en los pueblos con la hoja del tabaco, y uno de los motivos por los que me encanta es porque me recuerda a mi abuelita materna quien los hacía para vender, y también los fumaba, de hecho amo ese olor gracias a ella, y aunque suene loco, es innegable que los aromas nos llevan a lugares y momentos específicos de nuestras vidas, y ese olor y la fotografía me llevan directo a mi infancia sentada al lado de mi abuela en las vacaciones viendo cómo armaba los tabacos con sus manos. Otra de mis favoritas es la de la artesana haciendo macetas de arcilla o barro, y confieso que cuando la vi lo primero que pensé fue *"cómo hará para levantarse, porque yo paso unos minutos en esa posición y bueno..."* 🤣, pero volviendo a la foto, muestra parte de la tradición y cultura de una población de la isla llamada el cercado, pero sobre todo me habla de la mujer de esta tierra que no le tiene miedo al trabajo ni a ensuciarse las manos para conseguir su sustento y el de su familia.

Of all of them, my favorite was the first photograph which is a portrait where you can see a lady smoking one of those handmade cigars that they use to make in the villages with the tobacco leaf, and one of the reasons why I love it is because they remind me of my maternal grandmother who made them to sell, and also smoked them, in fact I love that smell thanks to her, and although it sounds crazy, it is undeniable that the aromas take us to specific places and moments and that smell and the photograph took me to my childhood sitting next to my grandmother on vacation watching how she assembled the cigars with her hands. Another of my favorites is the one of the craftswoman making clay pots, and I confess that when I saw her the first thing I thought was *"how will she get up, because I spend a few minutes in that position and well... "* 🤣, but returning to the photo, it shows part of the tradition and culture of a population of the island called el cercado, but above all it tells me about the woman of this land who is not afraid of work or getting her hands dirty to get her livelihood and that of her family.

   Entre mis favoritas también está la del niño jugando en la arena debajo de lo que parece un chinchorro, que por supuesto al vivir en un pueblito de pescadores son imágenes que veo en vivo y en directo, caritas como esas de niños jugando frente a las casas, corriendo por la calle o en la playa bañándose en compañía de otros niños. Y por último, la pieza titulada *"Adipencia"* que es una fotografía con intervención digital que refleja la dependencia que los seres humanos hemos desarrollado con la tecnología, específicamente con el uso del celular, y aparte de sentirme identificada, me encanta por el uso del color, la luz y el concepto en general.

Among my favorites is also the one of the child playing in the sand under what looks like a "chinchorro", which of course living in a small fishing village are images that I see live and direct, faces like those of children playing in front of houses, running down the street or on the beach bathing in the company of other children. And finally, the piece entitled *"Adipencia "* which is a photograph with digital intervention that reflects the dependence that humans have developed with technology, specifically with the use of cell phones, and besides feeling identified, I love the use of color, light and the concept in general.

    No les sabría decir si en este momento se encuentra activa o si la han cambiado por otra, pero los invito a estar atentos a este pasillo si visitan el C.C. Sambil, porque sin dudas nos sorprenden cada día con el talento increíble que hay en la isla y que nos recuerda que Margarita es mucho más que playas sol y arena.

I can't tell you if it is currently active or if they have changed it for another one, but I invite you to be attentive to this corridor if you visit the Sambil Shopping Mall, because without a doubt they surprise us every day with the incredible talent that exists on the island and that reminds us that Margarita is much more than beaches, sun and sand.
