So here I leave you my participation that surely will not be what you expected 😁   Sé que cuando escuchas hablar de **Margarita**, es normal que de inmediato lo asocies con playa, porque sí, al ser una isla, por supuesto es lo que abunda, pero como digo siempre, los margariteños, aunque quisiéramos, no vivimos en unas vacaciones perpetuas, ni mucho menos estamos en traje de baño todo el día, pues al igual que en cualquier otro lugar, los que vivimos en esta isla preciosa trabajamos, estudiamos, hacemos compras, vamos al cine, etc.,etc., etc., y como saben una de las cosas que caracteriza a este pedacito de tierra en medio del mar es su cultura. Margarita es dueña de una enorme riqueza cultural que va más allá de las danzas tradicionalistas y el galerón, **Margarita es arte**, arte en toda la expresión de la palabra, ya sea en canto, música, danzas, artesanías, pintura, escultura o fotografía, Margarita tiene ¡mucho que ofrecer! y ustedes que me conocen saben que soy súper fan de toda esa movida, pero sin dudas, lo que más me mueve y conmueve es todo lo relacionado con las artes plásticas y audiovisuales, específicamente la pintura, la escultura y la fotografía, es por eso que voy con frecuencia al **Centro de Artes Omar Carreño**, ubicado en **La Asunción**, justo a un ladito de la plaza Bolívar, a disfrutar del increíble arte margariteño en su galería **Freddy Villaroel"** Y ése mis amigos, es uno de los lugares mágicos de mi isla, y aunque no es una playa despampanante, es un lugar que amo.

Margarita is the owner of an enormous cultural richness that goes beyond the traditional dances and the galerón, **Margarita is art**, art in every expression of the word, whether in song, music, dance, crafts, painting, sculpture or photography, Margarita has a lot to offer! And those of you who know me know that I'm a big fan of all that, but without a doubt, what moves and moves me the most is everything related to plastic and audiovisual arts, specifically painting, sculpture and photography, that's why I often go to the **Centro de Artes Omar Carreño**, located in **La Asunción**, right next to Plaza Bolivar, to enjoy the incredible art of Margarita. And that my friends, is one of the magical places of my island, and although it is not a stunning beach, it is a place I love.

     Hace un tiempo, iba a este lugar prácticamente a diario porque mi hija Miranda asistía tanto al ballet como a la sinfónica, y ambos se encontraban en La Asunción, de hecho las clases de ballet eran en la sede del Centro de Artes, así que para mí fue súper triste cuando dejó de asistir a estas actividades porque mis visitas se redujeron, pero por supuesto no renuncié a visitarlo, y cada vez que estoy cerca paso a mirar la galería por si hay algo nuevo para ver, y ayer estando en La Asunción por algunas cositas pendientes aproveché la oportunidad de emtrar y me encontré con una exposición en honor a la virgen Nuestra Señora de La Asunción, patrona de nuestra capital que aparte de contar con muchísimas piezas, estaba hermosa y muy completa, así que decidí tomar muchas fotitos, y mostrarles no solo la galeria, sino esta bellisima exposición. La galería se encuentra escaleras abajo en el Centro de Artes y es una edificación bastante moderna, tipo industrial, y cuenta con dos salas bastante amplias, siendo la principal la más linda por la forma circular que tiene y su iluminación. En cuanto a la segunda sala, esta era anteriormente un salón de conferencias, por lo que es bastante simple, pero posiblemente en algún momento le den un toquecito especial, aunque la verdad es que con tanta belleza, difícilmente te vas a fijar en las paredes, y ahora vamos a ver por qué me gusta tanto este lugar. En el salón principal habían muchísimas pinturas al óleo donde se reflejaban escenas de lugares icónicos de la isla como el antiguo mercado de Porlamar, el Castillo de Santa Rosa y la Catedral de La Asunción, pero principalmente piezas dedicadas a su patrona, y entre todas estas mi favorita fue la pintura **"Luz en el campanario de la Asunción"** del artista Theo Mora. Y cómo no amarla, si es absolutamente preciosa, y el efecto de luz que se logró en el campanario y los farolitos es mágico.

Some time ago, I went to this place practically every day because my daughter Miranda attended both the ballet and the symphony, and both were in La Asunción, in fact the ballet classes were at the Arts Center, so for me it was super sad when she stopped attending these activities because my visits were reduced, but of course I did not give up visiting it, and every time I'm near I go to look at the gallery in case there is something new to see, and yesterday being in La Asuncion for some pending things I took the opportunity to enter and I found an exhibition in honor of the virgin Our Lady of the Assumption, patron saint of our capital that besides having many pieces, was beautiful and very complete, so I decided to take many pictures, and show you not only the gallery, but this beautiful exhibition. The gallery is located downstairs in the Arts Center and is a fairly modern building, industrial type, and has two fairly large rooms, the main one being the most beautiful because of its circular shape and lighting. As for the second room, this was formerly a conference room, so it is quite simple, but possibly at some point they will give it a special touch, although the truth is that with so much beauty, you will hardly notice the walls, and now let's see why I like this place so much. In the main hall there were many oil paintings reflecting scenes of iconic places of the island such as the old market of Porlamar, the Santa Rosa Castle and the Cathedral of the Assumption, but mainly pieces dedicated to its patron saint, and among all these my favorite was the painting **"Light in the bell tower of the Assumption "** by the artist Theo Mora. And how not to love it, if it is absolutely beautiful, and the light effect that was achieved in the bell tower and the lanterns is magical.

      Justo en el centro de esa parte del teatro, estaban las esculturas que son por mucho mi parte favorita en cualquier exposición, porque en serio me parece realmente increíble lo que puede hacer el ser humano con materiales que para muchos son simplemente un trozo de algo, algo que no tiene vida y que el artista es capaz de transformar en algo maravilloso con muchísimo esfuerzo porque trabajar con materiales como piedra, mármol, hierro y madera requieren bastante esfuerzo físico y muchísima habilidad manual. De todas las esculturas que estaban en esa zona mi favorita fue la que muestra dos trozos grandes de roca en diferentes estados, ya que la base estaba completamente rústica, e incluso sin retirar algunos residuos de donde fue extraída, y en la parte de arriba estaba otra roca en la que se ve claramente una parte que fue trabajada, limpiada y pulida, mientras que la otra mitad de esa misma roca aparentemente solo se limpió y emparejo su superficie superficie, y debo disculparme en este punto porque olvidé tomar la foto con el nombre de la pieza y del artista, pero para mí representa la posibilidad de cambio, que por supuesto depende del esfuerzo que imprimas a cada cosa, y es que si ves un diamante en su estado original jamás imaginarías la belleza que se esconde debajo de él, y esto aplica a todo, incluso a nosotros mismos.

Right in the center of that part of the theater, were the sculptures that are by far my favorite part of any exhibition, because seriously I find it really amazing what the human being can do with materials that for many are simply a piece of something, something that has no life and that the artist is able to transform into something wonderful with a lot of effort because working with materials such as stone, marble, iron and wood require a lot of physical effort and a lot of manual skill. Of all the sculptures that were in that area my favorite was the one that shows two large pieces of rock in different states, since the base was completely rustic, and even without removing some residues from where it was extracted, and at the top was another rock in which you can clearly see a part that was worked, cleaned and polished, while the other half of that same rock was apparently only cleaned and smoothed its surface, and I must apologize at this point because I forgot to take the picture with the name of the piece and the artist, but for me it represents the possibility of change, which of course depends on the effort you put into everything, and if you see a diamond in its original state you would never imagine the beauty that lies beneath it, and this applies to everything, including ourselves.

       En la otra sala se encontraban también trabajos de pintura y escultura, pero incorporaron alguna s fotografías en blanco y negro y a color, y a diferencia de la otra sala tenían algunas muestras de arte abstracto que como saben es de mis favoritos. Unas pinturas súper coloridas que hicieron qur esta parte de la exposición resaltara por completo. Aparte de eso, tenian algunas piezas bastante interesantes como una pequeña montaña con una gruta de la que literalmente manaba agua a través de un pequeño sistema escondido en la misma, y la obra de Alida España, **"Ningún sentimiento me es ajeno"**, que aunque está enmarcado no es una pintura como tal, más bien es una especie de manualidad en la que a través de corazones trabajados con diferentes técnicas se hace un paseo por los sentimientos humanos, y aunque no puedo decir que me pareció preciosa, porque no es del tipo de cosas que me encanten, tiene un gran impacto visual y logra su cometido, además de ser muy muy creativa.

Some super colorful paintings that made this part of the exhibition stand out completely. Apart from that, they had some very interesting pieces such as a small mountain with a grotto from which water was literally flowing through a small system hidden in it, and the work of Alida España, **"No feeling is alien to me "**, which although it is framed is not a painting as such, rather it is a kind of handicraft in which through hearts worked with different techniques a walk through human feelings is made, and although I can not say that I found it beautiful, because it is not the kind of thing that I love, it has a great visual impact and achieves its purpose, besides being very very creative.

        Esta galería sin duda alguna me llena de paz, es un lugar al que no me canso de ir, incluso puedo bajar a disfrutar una y otra vez de la misma exposición, y es que las luces, el silencio y tanta belleza a mi alrededor tienen la capacidad de aquietar mi alma, de hacer que me olvide de todo y concentrarme *"en el aquí y el ahora"*, aunque al salir a la calle me cachetee la realidad, pero esos minutos en que estoy respiro paz absoluta.
