Vr3pjgAOXFqPG2ZRwNMYPqQ1dBkUJzLG.jpg Some light painting I did at a local creek last weekend while the Milky Way was setting in the west.

The orb was created by hand using a homemade light box (with a star-shaped stencil taped inside it). In the image, each star appears almost perfectly (not a smeared streak of light) because of the Lightpainter torch I had attached to the light box, which was set to strobe in 5ms flashes as I moved the box up and down in vertical strokes. Scroll for pix of the tool and/or head over to my IGTV for a video tutorial on how I use the tool (video is titled 'Halloween Orb'). Attached to the light box was an orange acrylic tube that had a Nitecore P26 torch attached to it. Both torches were set to a very dim output so as to not overexpose the image due to the high ISO setting of the camera.

This image was captured in a single exposure: 10mm, f/4.5 ISO-3200, 30secs

The Lightpainter torch can be purchased from Light Painting Paradise
