This time I want to tell you about the day I almost stayed at the sushi restaurant washing the dishes. Well, almost (laughs).

En esta oportunidad quiero contarles del día en que casi me quedo en el restaurante de sushi lavando los platos. Bueno, casi (risas).
Once a month I usually take my daughter out to eat at a restaurant. Sometimes she chooses the menu according to my budget. On this occasion of the story I am telling you, she chose to eat sushi and when we were already at the sushi restaurant, they showed us the specials of the day.
Almost every time we go to eat Asian food, we are left hungry (laughs) That day the offers were very tempting and we decided on 30 roles of different flavors. We thought that might be enough.
Una vez al mes suelo llevar a mi hija a comer a un restaurante. A veces ella elige el menú según mi presupuesto. En esta ocasión de la historia que les cuento ella eligió comer sushi y ya estando en el restaurante de este tipo de comida, nos mostraron las ofertas del día.
Casi siempre que vamos a comer comida asiática, quedamos con hambre (risas) Ese día estaban muy tentadoras las ofertas y nos decidimos por 30 roles de variados sabores. Pensamos que quizás sería suficiente.
Our surprise was great when, after a few minutes, the food was brought to us in a wooden boat, a typical utensil used to serve large quantities of roles. My daughter was very happy and told me that she had always dreamed of having sushi served that way. We ate our fill and still had enough left to take home.
We asked for the bill and since it was a promotion, it was not so expensive.
Nuestra sorpresa fue mayúscula cuando, después de unos cuantos minutos, nos trajeron la comida en un barco de madera, típico utensilio donde acostumbran servir cantidades grandes de roles. Mi hija se puso muy contenta y me dijo que ella siempre había soñado que le sirvieran el sushi de esa manera. Comimos hasta saciarnos y aún nos quedó para llevar a casa.
Pedimos la cuenta y como era una promoción, no salió tan costoso.
The best part of that day was my daughter's smile. I can't always please her but when I do, my satisfaction is immense. As parents, we strive every day to keep our families' basic needs met. As single mothers, that effort is very special, we want to give our best, knowing that we have done our part as God intended.
Lo mejor de ese día fue la sonrisa de mi hija. No siempre puedo complacerla pero cuando lo hago, mi satisfacción es inmensa. Los padres nos esforzamos todos los días por mantener suplidas sus básicas necesidades a nuestras familias. Cómo madres solas, ese esfuerzo es muy especial, queremos dar lo mejor, sabiendo que hemos cumplido nuestra parte como Dios manda.
