Blessed beginning of the week, friends of Hive Open Mic! I’m happy to meet you again for week 270, in which we will deal with the theme “Holy Spirit”, a topic with a deep spiritual nuance.
When we talk about the Holy Spirit we can refer to Him by a series of adjectives such as giver of life, guide, consolation of the afflicted, host of the soul, protector, source of light, among others; I remember this from the prayers I learned years ago in church, and the truth is that they fall short when describing what for believers is the third person of the Holy Trinity of God, who gives us that breath and strength necessary to walk on the path of life.
On this occasion, I bring you a cover of Ven Espíritu Santo (Come Holy Spirit), a song by the Costa Rican-Mexican singer-songwriter Martín Valverde, from his album Lenguas de Fuego published in 1998. Through this song we ask the Holy Spirit to come into our lives to fill us with his gifts and to cover us with his protective mantle, and the most beautiful thing is that we ask it collectively and not individually, understanding that we are part of a big family, united by faith. ¡Bendecido inicio de semana, amigos de Hive Open Mic! Me contenta encontrarme otra vez con ustedes para la semana 270, en la que trataremos la temática “Espíritu Santo”, un tópico con un profundo matiz espiritual.
Cuando hablamos del Espíritu Santo nos podemos referir a Él mediante una serie de calificativos como dador de la vida, guía, consuelo de los afligidos, huésped del alma, protector, fuente de luz, entre otros; Esto lo recuerdo de las oraciones que aprendí hace años en la iglesia, y la verdad es que se quedan cortas a la hora de describir lo que para los creyentes es la tercera persona de la Santísima Trinidad de Dios, quien nos da ese aliento y fuerza necesarios para caminar en la senda de la vida.
En esta ocasión, les traigo un cover de Ven Espíritu Santo, una canción del cantautor costarricense-mexicano Martín Valverde, perteneciente a su álbum Lenguas de Fuego publicado en 1998. A través de esta canción le pedimos al Espíritu Santo que venga a nuestras vidas a llenarnos de sus dones y a cubrirnos con su manto protector, y lo más bonito es que lo pedimos de forma colectiva y no individual, entendiendo que somos parte de una gran familia, unidos por la fe. Espero que la canción sea de su agrado.
