Greetings, Hive Open Mic community! I’m happy to be here with you again for week 288, in which we will discuss the topic of “Gospel,” a beautiful and enriching musical genre, especially for believers in God.
What we know today as gospel music is a genre that basically combines elements of worship and praise to God with messages of Christian and human reflection, all accompanied by trendy musical styles such as rock, pop, ballads, blues, R&B, among others. This musical style appeals to both young people and adults, as its rhythms and contemporary fusions make it very attractive.
On this occasion, I bring you a cover of the song En mi Getsemaní (In My Gethsemane) by Argentine priest, singer, and composer Eduardo Meana, who focuses on writing songs aimed primarily at young people. I heard this song a few years ago in church, and it speaks of the desire to love beyond the concept of a fleeting feeling or emotion, but rather from a place of devotion and commitment to God and one's neighbor, to give the best of oneself every day. ¡Un saludo fraterno, comunidad de Hive Open Mic! Me contenta encontrarme con ustedes, en esta ocasión para la semana 288, en la que trataremos la temática “Música Góspel”, un género musical muy hermoso y enriquecedor, especialmente para los creyentes en Dios.
Lo que conocemos hoy en día como música góspel es un género que básicamente combina elementos de adoración y alabanza a Dios con mensajes de reflexión cristiana y humana, todo esto acompañado de estilos musicales que están en tendencia como el rock, pop, baladas, blues, R&B, entre otros. Este estilo musical llama la atención de los más jóvenes, así como de adultos, ya que sus ritmos y fusiones contemporáneas lo hacen muy atrayentes.
En esta ocasión, les traigo un cover de la canción En mi Getsemaní, del sacerdote, cantante y compositor argentino Eduardo Meana, quien se enfoca en escribir canciones dirigidas principalmente a jóvenes. Esta canción la conocí hace algunos años en la iglesia y habla del deseo de amar más allá del concepto de un sentimiento o emoción fugaz, sino más bien desde la entrega y el compromiso con Dios y el prójimo, para dar cada día lo mejor de sí mismos.
