Greetings, fellow weekend adventure lovers! It’s a pleasure to say hello. On this occasion, I would like to share with you a little bit about my experience last Saturday at the headquarters of the Linares Alcántara municipal council in Aragua state, Venezuela, better known as La Casona la Martinera or La Martinera Mansion, located on the old Maracay-Güigüe road, right at the entrance to the Camburito neighborhood.
I was running some errands in the vicinity and decided to visit this colonial-style structure that had always caught my attention on my walks through the area. Luckily, this mansion is the headquarters of the municipal chamber, as well as the council of the municipality where I live, so it is open to the public.
This building has historical value and is part of the cultural heritage of the municipality and the state of Aragua. It can be visited by the general public as well as by those who need to carry out administrative procedures related to the services offered there. It is important not to confuse this administrative entity with the municipality's mayor's office, located a few blocks away.
Residents of this area know La Martinera Mansion as a local historical and architectural landmark, and it is classified as a place for the people and by the people, especially since the building was designated for community services. Among the services provided by the mansion, we can mention that it serves as a legislative chamber, comptroller of administrative affairs, and headquarters for the education circuit, among others.
As a curious fact that I learned while talking to people who work at this headquarters, I learned that the mansion is famous for being a place where paranormal experiences occur, since in some of its corridors and rooms, noises of unknown origin and apparitions of shadows and ghosts are sometimes heard.
According to what I was told, the name “La Martinera” comes from the fact that this mansion formerly belonged to the Martínez Ruíz family, who had great influence and political power in the area in the past.
One of the things that caught my attention was its green areas, as well as its wooden ceilings and structural arches, which give the building a touch of elegance and beauty.
It was truly a pleasure to tour these historic and beautiful facilities. Thank you for joining me here. See you next time for another weekend experience.
