John (16-Bit) Explained the Pack Sales

  • Splinterfest we launched some Bulk purchase package deals for Genesis League Sports in advance of pre-sale.
    • They will go through to 3 pm EST tomorrow.
  • We went into this not knowing how well we would receive but the engagement has blown me away.
  • If you buy a bulk package of $10K, $25K, etc. you'll get a special set of bonuses. You'll get a special place in line to get those pre-sale purchases. We also will give boosters and free energy drinks and managers licenses.
  • Potions/Spells will be given as well for your purchases.
  • You get the bonus packs for the purchase at each level when the pre-sale goes live and then some additional chaos legion packs as well.
  • There's also some baked in details. There's a $7.5 million GLS pool who purchases in presale 1 and then if you buy in presale 2 as well. GLX will be the token for across the ecosystem so getting in early on this first game in this GLS ecosystem it's going to have a significant reward for GLX. On top of that as well, the top 10 purchases will get design rights for a coach card. You could even have a brand on it if that makes more sense to you so this is a great deal for people to come in and make themselves visible. One way to get that is making 10% sale or otherwise 50,000 packs. I know we've had about 250K packs which is half of the presale and we're about half sold out already. And one person has come in and bought 10% of that max supply. This is the first of many really cool games in the Genesis League Sports system. Getting in early has all the perks in the world.
  • There will be 500K packs sold in the presale. We will deduct the supply sold by John so we will update the exact number left for presale 1 after tomorrow.
  • For the pack sale there will be payments in HIVE and PayPal. You will want the KYC so on the pack sale date we will open up solely the KYC workflow so you'll want to do that first thing in the morning and we'll have that running ahead of the Tuesday pack sale so please KYC in advance at 9 am Eastern on that Tuesday.
  • If you run into problems with the KYC we will have support just like over at Splinterlands so you can get that taken care of before the presale. ABannerGLS.png

Marketing Update from Chatter

  • We are working with One Team as an intermediary with us and MLSPA and then directly with MLPSA. We're looking to do some touch ups and evergreen content for things for ads, social campaigns, and we will be helping promote on their socials. We'll be doing similar stuff as we've seen for Splinterlands. All the Twitter ads, Google ads, etc. are getting set up now. A point of difference though was when Aggroed and Matt made Splinterlands they didn't realize what a massive monster they would make (in a good way). What's really cool now is we can look at website data and see what we can do GLS from looking at Splinterlands. A lot of the feedback we've gotten from them we will be able to interpret that beforehand and that will help us inform an active faster for marketing campaigns.
  • We're thinking of getting a chat going for winners of certain tournaments can then have that featured for the tournaments.
  • We're working with the MLSPA players to build campaigns and we'll have things by next week to show!

Whitepaper

  • We're actively refining these concepts. Having a better understanding of how the player cards will work, the coach cards will work. At a high level the card will mimic a MLSPA player. The coach card is the strategy card and will be a very important card in the game itself as it unlocks different forms of plays. Then there's also an important aspect -- the synergy system (we will hear from Carey). It's not about just having good players but also having that synergy among the players. That synergy is going to make creating that competitive deck.

Synergy System - Explained by Carey

  • Deck strategy and collection really comes out of this synergy system. You will start to rebuild or construct your deck

  • It comes in foil which is the identity of the card. We have a debuff if you have different foils in the same hand or if they are part of the same foil group they will buff each other. We will have the different foil colors but also the GOLD and so they increase synergy with all the foils and the CITY also increases the synergy. Additions will also help with an extra bonus. As you're playing the game and using the cards of the synergy then you have the team. If you have them together they are going to GAIN in synergy as you have them play together. Certain synergies will be better or worse depending on the weather on the field and if you have a perfect deck you'll get a deck buff.

  • Upgradability - 3 types Leveling

    • You play a card, you earn XP. That's a time component.
  • Combining cards gains star level and the star level unlocks new buff slots and equipment slots.

    • They work together. You level and earn XP and then you combine cards.
  • Player Buffs

    • NFTS you can earn as part of playing the game. One of them being player buffs like equipment and skills.
    • The key to the rewards is you play games and win and you earn equipment as part of your reward system and depending on your ranking they get better or worse. Buffs are passive or active modifiers. There are certain buffs that are passive and there are active buffs that must be used by the player BEFORE and you will see slots and you'll be able to insert these equipment some will be temporary some will be permanent. You'll get to decide if you want to use an active skill ahead of the turn while passive skills come with the rounds.

GLX Breakdown

  • 100 Million GLX given for 12 months with staked SPS
  • New game, new platform so we'll have presale owners that will be able to stake their packs to get GLX and we also have other GLX tokens reserved within the game. That's what the whitepaper is all about - a lot of this is still in flight and a lot of this might slightly change over time. We'll keep updating the whitepaper. A lot of people ask how many cards will you need to level up players. We haven't decided that. Once we have that finalized we will let you know.

Questions

  • When is the snapshot for GLG of the SPS stakers?

    • As per the GLS whitepaper we'll be conducing the airdrop on Oct 25. 100 GLX tokens over 12 months for stake holders which means you must stake it to qualify for it. What happens is at midnight we take a snapshot and we give out based upon what is staked. If you want to participate, put your SPS in the game and you'll be able to go and you'll receive GLX airdrops for the next year.
  • How much would anyone need to invest in order to have a competitive football team?

    • We don't like to but value around the deck itself. We won't know until we test the game. We're looking at leveling and combining the mechanics. We just have to always remember we're using the same mechanics as Splinterlands. I'm not going to say it's EXACTLY like that but we're using the same logic. I hope that makes sense.
  • Could we look at the option to make presale packs purchasable for 5$ (paypal or Hive) and 1 voucher (now worth 5$). This will make price in line of the 10 $ pack value in the next tranches (without a voucher). Plus, mainly it would be another temporary sink for a rapidly increasing supplying of vouchers. It won't affect the income generation that GLS is aiming for. Yes, vouchers are designed for Splinterlands the game, but considering you are laser focusing the presale within the Splinterlands community, the extra utility and burning of vouchers will be very welcome.

    • The voucher is not out yet, so we can't use them for presale one. GLS will have to always be careful with cross products because Sport leagues don't like cross promotions so again long story short presale 2 will have voucher included but presale 1 won't.
  • Fifa has team of the week cards released weekly during the season. These cards are limited (10-15 players per week) and have boosted stats and altered card art. A handful of players are chosen each week based on how they performed during the previous weeks matches. Do you have plans for team of the week cards in GLG? If so, how would you earn them? Could you open those cards in packs for that week only? Unlock them in challenges? Etc.

    • Long story short this person is asking if we'll have special limited release cards. The answer is yes. We don't have details but as we go through the season MLSPA we'll make limited edition cards but nothing is finalized yet but that's something we're thinking about and we'll let you know. We want to follow the movement of the season if a player is having a good season then we want to focus on that with extra boosters and stats. We work with the MLSPA so that whatever we do and whatever players we choose we have to get approval and we'll definitely look into that in the future.
  • How will the $GLX distribution be done and will there be any $GLX rewards for Node License Holders or Pack Holders, etc - or will it be just for $SPS stakers? Thanks a bunch, Splinterfest was awesome, can't wait for next time!

    • Splinterfest was awesome! Pluck -- GLX is outlined in the whitepaper. We're looking to do GLX rewards for Splinterlands node holders within GLG and there will be more details. GLX will be handed out to SPS stakers (100 Millions). So yes for existing holders and those buying into GLX
    • We will airdrop GLX to SPS communities. SPS holders will be getting that exclusively. In November, the only people that have GLX will be SPS holders and you can stake the GLX to get more GLX and you can stake your packs to get GLX as well. In 2023 the license holders will get GLX as well. When you stake GLX in November, you will get GLX and GLGT. The GLGT that you own you'll be able to use that in the second presale.
  • Reading the white paper it says that GLX is a stable coin, I am just wondering what the intended PEG value is?

    • GLX is not a stable coin. It is the governance coin. GLUSD is a stable coin that you can burn and pegged by the product. 1 GLUSD = 1 USD
  • In the whitepaper there was nothing mentioned about sounds. Are there any plans for customs sounds (different fan sounds, whistle sounds etc)?

    • Carey: (MrFrostyCakes) Sounds are critical. I'm a lover of all things audio. You're playing a tactical strategy and you want to get the sense you're playing a real soccer game so we're playing to have sounds in the fields when you're in the fields and the turns and we're looking to simulate the announcer to call the plays and calling the plays that are happening on the field and that will give that feel of the fantasy play. So which there is a tackle or someone trips and hurts their leg and down on the ground or the excitement of the announcer when you win a surprise goal. You get that multiple-level narrator sound.
  • The recent presales for Riftwatchers and Tower Defense have sold out so quickly and have been dominated by whales. Have you thought about limiting purchases per player in the first 24 hours so that more people have a chance to buy in the presale?

    • This is a difficult question to ask because we don't want to prevent anyone from buying packs. We have the second presale that will be with the GLGT so you can get that just from staking from the first presale. By the time we launch the game in the general sale we have enough packs for everyone to play the game and not feel left out.
  • Will GLG have similar access to APIs like Splinterlands does?

    • The reality is we're still building the game so we don't have this information yet. Let us build the game and we'll get to the API discussion when we have it. Right now we're just pushing these products.
    • Francis: We know that's something people want to have access to but we haven't gotten there yet or how that's gonna work but we'll get there.
  • How will SPS staking work with GLG, will we get tokens for sps staked? It's not mentioned in the white paper at all.

    • You just need to stake the SPS.
    • SPS stakers will receive GLX in the first 12 months. This is in the Genesis League Sports white paper. The overarching systems will be in the ecosystem white paper rather than baked into each individual game.
    • Our goal we want to create a game with every possible league out there. GLS becomes the mother brand and then the first is with MLSPA as the first league. We want to work with more leagues. So GLS will have the layer that is going to cross across the games. Each game will have its own whitepaper and each game will explain the supply for that and how you play that game and rest assured but MLSPA will not be our only partner but one of many and each of them will be separate but it will be under the umbrella of Genesis League Sports. You'll be able to create a single login that will access all the leagues. The idea is GLS becomes the ecosystem that supports all the games with whatever they need, marketing, customer support, etc.
  • Are we going to have only one GLG? No. It's just one game. We're going to have let's say another partnership with a league in Europe, that will have another game and another name but under the umbrella of Genesis League Sports. We are creating all this reusable software and speed up the development of that. The long term vision is yes we'll have all these games and it will have a whitepaper for each league/game. We need to be able to do that so that's what I always see in Discord so I wanted to touch upon that.

  • Is there any more info on SPS and license rewards when it comes to GLG?

    • GLS licenses will be airdropped to node holders in Splinterlands but the date at this time is to be determined. We are thinking at the first of 2023.
  • Will the coach cards be openable in the pack? Can I combine coach cards to reach level 10?

    • Yes they will be openable in the pack. There will be approximately 30 coaches and they can be combined to level up to 10.
  • How many different cards will there be for different rarities, both for players and coaches

    • We will probably not use rarity for some of the games we do. It has to do with not creating problems with the leagues we work with or hurt the feelings of the players because if we use that as performance we don't want to do that. Players will not have a rarity but instead a foil type (non-foil, regular foil (blue/green/red/orange), and gold. Same for both That is more fair and more with the sports world. Obviously we'll have special editions as we mentioned those limited editions that might come out but otherwise it will be standard cards.
  • How many leagues will there be, and will the level of your cards be limited to a "league cap"? (like in SPL where you cant use a max level legendary in bronze)

    • Carey: The leagues haven't been worked out so we still have the design we're working so we don't have that answer yet.
  • In the whitepaper, it doesn't explain anything else than you can max a card to lv 10, how many copies are necessary for a max copy, I assume its not out because it is not finalized - but is there some estimates/idea going around for the different rarities, just to get an idea?

    • We don't have these details but we will let you know. This will depend on testing and user feedback.
  • The most important questions for me as of now... I want to play at the highest or second highest league in this game - so, how many packs is needed to play at that level? an estimate is fine as well, but just so I have an idea on how much I need to spend to achieve that.

    • We can't provide that until we know a little more but we will provide the leveling logic when we can.
  • If you can give info to this, how much of pre-presale, in pack-amount/percentage, is looking to be bought up at the 15th out of the total 250k packs?

    • These are details we're still finalizing. We have 500K packs for the presale one. Some of the supply that John sold will be deducted. The cap will be 250K packs so at the worst it will be 250K packs but I will get that final info by tomorrow and let you know.
  • What will be the accepted paymentmethods/currencies for presale?

    • HIVE or PayPal. PayPal will require KYC so I strongly suggest you do that KYC ahead of the presale. It will open up 9 am EST on Tuesday before the presale so you can have that ready by 4 pm presale. There will be no minimum amount.
  • How many different cards will there be in total?

    • Players can change before the start of the season but estimating 800 player cards and approximately 30 coach cards at 5 different foil levels and non-foil.
