Les voy a decir que me he estado tomando estas vacaciones muy en serio y he aprovechado ciertas ocasiones que se han presentado para reunirme con unas amistades que conocí cuando estaba en la universidad y hoy, seguimos manteniéndonos en constante comunicación a pesar de que cada uno tiene sus responsabilidades.
No les voy a negar que también he aprovechado a dormir bastante, a ver series e incluso, he visto alguna película con alguno que otro amigo.
Ya les voy a ir contando de mis de más aventuras más adelante, ya que hoy les compartiré de un encuentro muy específico.
I'll tell you that I've been taking this vacation very seriously and have taken advantage of certain opportunities that have arisen to meet up with some friends I met when I was in college, and today we still keep in constant communication even though we each have our own responsibilities.
I won't deny that I've also taken advantage of the opportunity to sleep a lot, watch TV series, and even see a movie with a friend or two.
I'll tell you about my other adventures later, as today I'm going to share a very specific encounter with you.

Unas semanas atrás fue el cumpleaños de un gran amigo a quien quiero y admiro mucho. Aunque, él vive muy lejos, por lo que ha sido una sorpresa para mí que me escribiera un día antes para avisarme que estaba en aquí en San Fernando y que le gustaría que nos reuniéramos al día siguiente (era su cumpleaños).
Fue así, como me puse de acuerdo con otros amigos para reunirnos, aunque sea a comernos un helado para así celebrar el cumpleaños y poder conversar un rato.
A few weeks ago, it was the birthday of a great friend whom I love and admire very much. Although he lives far away, I was surprised when he wrote to me the day before to let me know that he was here in San Fernando and would like to meet up the next day (it was his birthday).
So, I arranged with some other friends to meet up, even if it was just to have ice cream to celebrate his birthday and chat for a while.

Esta reunión terminó siendo una sorpresa para mi amigo, ya que ese día que nos escribió, no terminamos por confirmar si podíamos reunirnos o no, y, le escribimos el día de su cumpleaños, exactamente a la hora en que nos íbamos a ver y el lugar donde nos íbamos a encontrar.
Es así como terminamos por llevar a nuestro amigo a un lugar llamado CHELLO, el cual es muy bonito, agradable y la atención comparada en otros lugares es 10/10.
Este lugar de noche se ve muy hermoso, tiene buena iluminación y algo que nos gustó es que tiene un espacio para que los niños se entretengan mientras que los papás están compartiendo y esto fue algo de ventaja para nosotros porque uno de nuestros amigos llevo a su hija y así ella pudo divertirse mientras los adultos hablamos de nuestras cosas.
This meeting ended up being a surprise for my friend, since on the day he wrote to us, we didn't end up confirming whether we could meet or not, and we wrote to him on his birthday, exactly at the time we were going to meet and the place where we were going to meet.
That's how we ended up taking our friend to a place called CHELLO, which is very nice, pleasant, and the service compared to other places is 10/10.
This place looks very beautiful at night, it has good lighting, and something we liked is that it has a space for children to entertain themselves while their parents are socializing, which was an advantage for us because one of our friends brought his daughter and she was able to have fun while the adults talked about our things.

El lugar estaba muy bonito y aprovechamos para tomarnos varias fotos para compartir en nuestras redes sociales, al igual que para guardar en nuestros dispositivos y recordar en algún momento de nuestras vidas.
Aunque, no terminamos aquí nuestra reunión, ya que se acercó la hora de comer y nuestro presupuesto no alcanzaba para adquirir alguno de los platos que ofrecía el lugar, los cuales se veían muy ricos en la carta.
The place was very beautiful, and we took the opportunity to take several photos to share on our social media accounts, as well as to save on our devices and remember at some point in our lives.
However, we did not end our meeting there, as it was almost lunchtime and our budget was not enough to purchase any of the dishes offered by the place, which looked very delicious on the menu.

Bueno, terminamos por irnos a un restaurante a comer arroz chino y les digo que aquí también lo pasamos muy bien. Nos reímos mucho recordando nuestros tiempos de la universidad y todo lo que hemos pasado hasta el momento.
También nos pusimos al día con todo y cada uno se enteró del oficio que hace cada uno en la actualidad y de cómo se encuentra emocionalmente, y de alguna que otra meta que tenemos en mente. Asimismo, nos reímos un poco de nuestra situación actual en Venezuela y, nuestro amigo nos compartió la experiencia que le ha tocado vivir por la inundación que ocurrió en el pueblo donde vive y que a su vez terminó por sacarlo de su casa.
Sinceramente, creo que necesito más reuniones de estas, donde te sientes en confianza y puedes ser quien eres realmente, sin preocuparte por protocolos, o por cómo afecte el cómo te verán en tu espacio laboral.
Creo que, nuestro amigo la terminó por pasar muy bien y le gustó mucho su sorpresa. Así que, hasta aquí es el relato de hoy, y nos leemos otro día.
Well, we ended up going to a restaurant to eat Chinese rice, and I have to say we had a great time there too. We laughed a lot reminiscing about our college days and everything we've been through so far.
We also caught up on everything, and each of us found out what the others are doing now, how they are feeling emotionally, and some of the goals we have in mind. We also laughed a little about our current situation in Venezuela, and our friend shared with us his experience of the flooding that occurred in the town where he lives, which ended up forcing him out of his home.
Honestly, I think I need more gatherings like this, where you feel comfortable and can be who you really are, without worrying about protocols or how it will affect how you are perceived in your workplace.
I think our friend ended up having a great time and really enjoyed his surprise. So, that's it for today's story, and we'll read each other another day.
