Hacía casi un año ya desde la última vez que vine a casa de mis tíos, algo que me dejó sorprendida porque pensaba que había sido hace mucho menos. Esa sensación me llenó de nostalgia, ya que cuando era pequeña casi todos los fines de semana visitábamos a la familia o ellos venían a casa. 🏡💭
Pero como todo en la vida, crecemos, nos ocupamos, y esas dinámicas cambian un poco. Aun así, en varios cumpleaños he tenido la oportunidad de ver a mis primas y compartir momentos súper agradables. 🎉👨👩👧👧
Hace una semana fue el cumpleaños de la novia de mi primo. Ese día no estaba en casa, pero apenas supe de la invitación, salí casi corriendo de donde estaba porque tenía muchas ganas de ver a mis tíos y pasar tiempo con ellos. 🏃🏻♀️💨
A eso de las 8:30 PM llegamos, y noté que mi prima aún no estaba porque seguía trabajando. La sala tenía una decoración sencilla pero muy bonita, ideal para tomarse unas fotos. 📸✨
A las 9:30 PM mi primo empezó a repartir cervezas (obvio no iba a decir que no 🍻) mientras jugábamos Venezolario, ese juego de vocabulario venezolano que se ha hecho súper popular. Mi tío, por su parte, ya estaba encendiendo la parrillera. 🔥🥩
A las 11 PM mi prima llegó y justo me tocó repartir la parrilla. Luego de comer, conversar y reír un rato, comenzaron las sesiones de karaoke (una tradición infaltable en mis reuniones familiares 🎤). Finalmente, a medianoche cantamos cumpleaños.
Algo que siempre me da risa es que ahora preguntamos: “¿el largo o el corto?” 🎶😅 Y si no son de Venezuela, les cuento que tenemos una versión extendida del “Cumpleaños Feliz” que, aunque dura bastante, a mí me encanta porque tiene más sentimiento. 💛
**En resumen**, fue una noche llena de cariño, sabor, risas y recuerdos. Me hizo darme cuenta de lo valioso que es mantener esos pequeños encuentros con quienes amamos, aunque no sean tan frecuentes como antes. 💫✨

It had been almost a year since the last time I visited my aunt and uncle’s house which honestly surprised me because I thought it had been much more recent. That realization hit me with a wave of nostalgia 💭. When I was younger, we used to visit family (or have them over) almost every weekend. 🏡
But like everything in life, we grow up, get busy, and things change. Even so, I’ve still been able to see my cousins at a few birthdays and always have a lovely time. 🎂💕
About a week ago, it was my cousin’s girlfriend’s birthday. I wasn’t home that day, but the second I heard we were invited, I practically ran from where I was because I really wanted to see my relatives and spend time with them. 🏃🏻♀️💨
We arrived around 8:30 PM, and I noticed my cousin wasn’t there yet because she was still working. The living room had simple but super cute decorations perfect for snapping some pics. 📸🌟
Around 9:30 PM, my cousin started handing out beers (obviously I wasn’t going to say no 🍻), and we played “Venezolario,” a fun Venezuelan word game that’s become super trendy lately. Meanwhile, my uncle fired up the grill. 🔥🥩
By 11 PM, my cousin was back, and it was my turn to help serve the grilled meat. After we ate and chatted for a while, the karaoke kicked off one of our all-time favorite family activities. 🎤🎶 Then, right at midnight, it was time to sing happy birthday.
Something that always makes me laugh is how we now ask, “Short version or long version?” 😂 If you're not from Venezuela, you might not know we have an *extended* version of the Happy Birthday song and even though it’s a little long, I personally love it. It just feels more heartfelt. 💛
**In the end**, it was a night full of warmth, laughter, great food, and sweet memories. It reminded me how important it is to make time even if it’s not as often as before to be present for the people we love. 💫💕
