Celebrating Life and Love ( Mehir's 4th Birthday)

Hi everyone, tonight I will be sharing my son's 4th birthday. This happened last April 12, 2025 and gladly I save so many pictures and this push me to write a blog about it. It was like gathering memories together and such a great moment for my little one.    One week before his birthday came, my wife and I planned a simple birthday celebration. We talked about for family gathering only as our budget was limited. We invited relatives both on our sides ( my siblings, nieces and nephews and my wife's relatives). Since we lived in my wife's place, she invited almost her immediate families up to 3rd degree cousins. The night before the event we shared different ideas in what to cook because the following day we had to go to the market at 3am to buy what we're needed for the simple salo-salo (Filipino own term for gathering). That night also my wife made muchkins and pastel for dessert.     8 Fast forward on that day, we woke up at 2:30 am and had a cofee for a while and went to the market. We went directly to Consolacion Public Market just 6 kilometers away from home . My estimated time of travel was about 15 to 20 minutes. When we reached there, my wife went directly to meat section. There, we bought different kinds of meat (pork,chicken,fish and shrimp), spices and so many stuff for the celebrations. After 2 hours, we're done and went home directly. We arrived home at 5 am so I went straight to the kitchen to cook for breakfast and at the same time to wash the meat. It was indeed a busy day. When we were done eating breakfast, we started to cook I think it was already 9 am that time. We chose to do 6 menus including lumpia, buttered shrimp, spaghetti, fried chicken, humba and grilled fish. We were in rush to do all of this for my target time to finish everything was by 4pm and the celebration started at 6 pm so we still have time to rest. Gladly, we finished early, the table was set up earlier than expected and I was contented. So when 6pm came and visitors arrived, we began the birthday celebration. We blessed the food and sang happy birthday song to Mehir. We can really witness how happy he was. My heart was full. I was a bit excited and at the same time emotional. I was so thankful for the chances given to Mehir to live another year of his life. It was a day full of fun and filled with laughters. It was worth all the effort putting together to make it successful. This may not be a grand one but such a meaningful moment for our little one to let him feel that even in his situation he is loved by all.
