Sabana Smiles: Guyabano Harvest

Hello, Hive community! It’s been a while since I last posted a blog, mainly because of my hectic schedule. As a father, I don’t really have much time to do other things not even for myself but still, we do what we must for our family. Every day is filled with responsibilities, from working to provide for our needs to making sure the household is in order. It can be exhausting at times, but moments like today remind me why it’s all worth it.  For today’s blog, I’ll be taking you with me as I share my journey in harvesting our **guyabano** fruit. Here in our area, we call it **“Sabana”** (soursop). It’s known for its unique sweet-and-sour flavor, high vitamin C content, and various health benefits, such as being a rich source of antioxidants. Honestly, this fruit is one of my favorites. I just love its taste and that’s exactly why my wife and I decided to plant it in our garden a few years ago. Watching it grow from a small sapling to a fruit-bearing tree has been truly rewarding. My children love eating this fruit too. So when we finally harvested it, they were so happy and excited. Seeing their smiles as they held the freshly picked guyabano warmed my heart. It reminded me that the simple things in life like planting, waiting patiently, and enjoying the fruits of our labor together bring the most joy. In our garden, we have many different plants and fruits, so having fresh harvests is never really a problem. Gardening has also taught us patience, care, and appreciation for nature’s blessings. It has become one of our family’s simple bonding moments, especially during weekends when the kids help us water the plants. In conclusion, this small harvest of guyabano may seem ordinary to others, but for me, it symbolizes love, effort, and togetherness. It’s a reminder that even in our busy lives, we can always make time for the things that truly matter, our family, our health, and the little joys found in nature.
