Behind - the - scene chaos: Our Harry potter Booth Setup

A pleasant day, Hivers! It’s your @rufajane here, back with another blog for this week. It’s been a while since I last posted because the past days were filled with endless preparation for our much-awaited Science Exhibit. Now that it’s finally over, let me take you behind the scenes and share the chaos, teamwork, and fun that happened during the preparation. ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/rufajane/EoptNt9TW1RAd4Nt1ANMfvVSfo3wtgS6WfhQ9VSNeoAVUGWomLj41U5RWc5XfwkkQ6j.png) This month is dedicated to science, which is why September is officially celebrated as Science Month in our school. That also means science-related contests and activities were lined up one after another. And of course, most contestants and participants came from the STEM strand, making us STEM students busier than ever. Since we were entrusted with the exhibit itself, both Grade 11 and Grade 12 STEM students were grouped into five teams. Each group brainstormed their own concept: What theme should we use? What experiment would we present? How could we make our booth stand out?

To give us ample time, the school excused all STEM students every Friday for several consecutive weeks so we could focus entirely on preparation. If I counted correctly, we had about two to three Fridays dedicated purely to planning, creating, and designing. Then, on the final day before the exhibit, we were again excused from classes to do the actual booth setup. ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/rufajane/Eokd2VLgMzD4aFXC7krb4f2xDBqkNLsTn6wiTkWsR3KF8ZXXYBVh7s2azq99bzAb4TN.png) Our group’s theme was Harry Potter while others had themes like Frozen, Jungle, Circus, and Fortune Teller. You could really see the creativity of STEM students shining through. I was the one who did the calligraphy for the Four Houses of Hogwarts. But I won’t sugarcoat it... it was exhausting!! Imagine standing and walking all day, cutting, pasting, buying, and assembling props. The most challenging part was our background setup. We used tarpapel, but the pieces were like puzzle fragments that didn’t match at first. Still, through teamwork and patience, we managed to complete it. Afterward, we cleaned up the whole area so it would be ready for the exhibit at 8:00 A.M. ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/rufajane/EoeFKYDQdEynLmYqkt3597ZmzNGQejjdBbtfHWGgfZHt1eX1XMoNrUqKznULeyQYmAY.png) Despite the sweat, money spent, and aching feet, I felt proud seeing everyone’s creativity come alive. This experience taught me that even the most challenging tasks can be accomplished when no one quits and everyone helps one another. That’s all for this blog, but stay tuned because in my next post, I’ll share what happened during the actual exhibit presentation and demonstrations. Thank you for reading, and have a nice day!
